Life saving experience
Dr. Khalafi performed a quadruple bypass on me. Post surgery, he took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I felt confident about the recovery. He has an amazing supporting staff. Thanks to their exceptional care, I’ve made a full recovery and am back to doing the things I love, including running again!

Highly recommended!
I recently had a C.A.B.G. surgery performed by Dr. Khalafi, 1/2024. He did a superb job with my surgery, he and his staff explained what to expect ahead of time. I felt very comfortable going into a stressful surgery for the first time. My family can't believe my progress just 3 weeks since my surgery. I was blessed to have Dr. Khalafi operate on me!

Wonderful surgeon
After a successful ablation surgery for AFib my autoimmune conditions triggered the pericardial sac to fill with fluid. Felt like an elephant sitting on my chest. I was admitted to Med Cityy CV ICU in NRH. I was scheduled for the open heart procedure for 4 days from my admitted date, but be cause the fluid kept increasing I was squeezed in on Thursday. Dr K explained the procedure and perform it. When I woke up I could breathe without pain. Forever grateful for his skills.

Doesn't give the full picture of your health.
Doctor Khalafi both knew about my aortic aneurysm surgery prior to my valve replacement, and did not tell me that I had the aneurysm. Stated I had no restrictions in activity after the sternotomy precautions were lifted. 6 years later, I find out I have an aneurysm incidentally this June (5.8cm). Looking back through my records buried in Mychart, I found that the radiologist both told him about it and he would have been able to see (@5.3 cm at the time.). I had to undergo another open heart surgery to fix that aortic aneurysm now in my 30s. Had I been older, I likely would have died.

Dr. Khalafi did an excellent job of off-pump CABG surgery. He also discovered a blood disorder which would have killed me and referred me to an oncologist. I am doing fine now 3 years later.

BEWARE of Dr. Khalafi! If anything goes wrong, he will hide and leave you to sit in the hospital. He will also move you to whichever hospital he has the most power. My sister has spent 46 of the last 60 days in and out of the hospital since Khalafi performed surgery on her. Each time, he's nowhere to be found, and the other doctors won't help because they don't want to upset Dr. Khalafi. If you value your life, choose another doctor.

We waited for one hour beyond our appointment time and then after 30 more minutes in the exam room left. No one apologized or mentioned why he was late. It seemed it was typical. We have chosen a different surgeon to complete his needed procedure.
