Dr. Sezmin Noorani, MD

When she received a result that indicated my husband needed to go to the ED, she called us immediately and we said we'd go to the Hillsboro ED. She called us a few minutes later and said she had called there and found out they were backed up, so we should go to UNC main. We turned around and headed the other way. She made these calls to be sure my husband could be seen ASAP. There is a long wait for appointments, but that is hardly her fault, but the fact that there are too few providers for too many patients. If I MyChart her with something urgent, she will fit me in ASAP or make sure I am seen by somebody. She explains things well, is super into making sure all my tests are up to date and I've had no problem getting prescriptions filled. I've been her patient for many years.

Solid doctor.

Dr. Noorani has allowed my much-needed prescription to expire because she does not seem interested in scheduling her patients’ annual physical exams (I assume because these appointments are more time-consuming and less profitable). Despite leaving three different messages for her office, neither she nor her nurses have returned my calls in over a month. Her front desk says that she does not have any availability to schedule her patients’ annual physical exams for OVER SEVEN MONTHS from today. Because I cannot get an appointment for my annual physical exam, Dr. Noorani has allowed my prescription to expire (as though she is holding it for a ransom that she does not even seem interested in collecting!). This is not the first major issue I have experienced with Dr. Noorani.

Dr. Noorani is thorough in her examinations. She believes in preventative medicine and recommends healthy lifestyle options to prevent possible conditions. She has been my doctor for over 10 years and I recommend her highly.
