Don't trust him with dry or wet macular degenerati
Very cold, condescending provider. Coming from one of the best providers in the US, Dr. Saunders is a joke. He takes shortcuts and doesn't monitor the eyes as he should. I would recommend finding another Dr.

Excellent caring and professional doctor
December 2023-because I have severe dry eye with another issue, I went to Dr Saunders for a consultation. He was knowledgeable, professional and concerned about my condition and knew which specialist to refer me to. The appointment was within20 minutes and staff was good. The Assistant (Heather) was also knowledgeable and professional. My experience at Colorado west Ophthalmology was excellent. As a note, I had to drive 3 hours so I was glad for a positive outcome.

Totally baffled by his manner
I waited 4 months for this appt; I had never met Dr. Saunders before. From the get go, starting with his asst, I was never allowed to fully explain why I was there. I was continually cut off, even though I had barely started to explain the issue I was dealing with. The asst was very rushed and told me she’d send the doctor in. He asked me if I was there for glasses or to have the problem in my right eye checked. It was neither. I had barely said 10 words, and he cut me off, saying he had read the notes on my chart. After he did this two more times, I told him that what I wanted to explain was not in the notes. I finally asked him if he could just show me the respect to let me finish my sentence. It took me 30 seconds to say what I had been trying to explain from the moment I got there. If I had rambled on and on I would totally understand why I was continually interrupted, but that was not the case. I decided to leave and not continue with the appointment.

I have to write a PS Regarding my visit. New glasses don’t work! Can’t see a thing with them, so I need to remove sentence about competency.
