He’ll do
I don’t see a doctor for their bed side manner, I see a doctor for my health improvement. If I’m improving I’m happy and with Dr. Arfeen my health has steadily improved. The doctor is quick and to the point for his office visits. He does provide all sorts of material in every room so every one can stay informed and updated on various diseases and illnesses. No, he isn’t pleasant but he isn’t my buddy he’s my doctor. I only see him a couple times a year. If you’re looking for congenial you’ll need a different doctor. Staff are awesome .

Rude and dismissive
If you want a doctor who explains things and is forthcoming with information, then Dr. Arfeen is not the doctor you want. He does not treat his patients with the respect they expect and deserve. Most of the nurses at Michigan City Franciscan Hospital say he is a good doctor but he is dismissive to his patients, at best. You have to ask him everything and you may or may not get an answer to the question you have just asked. I do want the best doctor for my husband but compassion and respect must also be part of the package that we are looking for. Not so with Dr. Arfeen. As far as his diagnosis for my husbands condition, it was only middle of the road. Was I impressed with it? No. If I can get my husband to change doctors, we will be changing to Dr. James Hasbargen.

My parents had a horrible experience with this physician today. His gross misconduct and dismissive behavior was unacceptable. I was on speaker and heard the way that he addressed my 80 year old father. He should NOT be in the office if he can NOT address every patient with patience and dignity! I would have never imagined that a nephrologist/professional that says he studied at Harvard, an assistant professor at IU School of Medicine and him being a minority (Pakistanian), to be so arrogant to treat his elders in this manner. I pray that his parents/family is never treated in the manner in which he treated mine!
