Dr. Shailaja Koppolu, MD

Dr. Koppolu delivered my anesthesia during a multiple procedure operation almost a year ago now and I am still eternally grateful for her amazing care. As a nurse I am not immune to irrational fears of anesthesia, it can be a normal human response and Dr. Koppolu was incredible, she comforted me and coached me through a nice slow induction, her voice is angelically soothing which smoothed my nerves and made my going under more of a spa-like relaxation than a surgical procedure. Rather than the backwards counting she coached me on slow deep breathing and my last moments before unconsciousness were total peace. This is a provider of the highest skill set and I would pass out her info to anyone that is having surgery and anxious. She is the very best and I trust her with my life completely.

Never in my life have I met or interacted such an amazing human being. Dr. Koppolu was my anesthesiologist through the most terrifying day of my life thus far, my first surgery (albeit a minor surgery, but being my first, she was wonderful). She was patient, sat with me, held my hand, answered every question and never once made me feel silly or inadequate for being so worked up. She treated me like family and made me feel so safe. She went over all my reservations and kept me calm. I highly recommend Dr. Koppolu, because of her and my surgeon Dr. Narain, I’m able to get my life back. I’m forever grateful for her. She touched my heart in so many different ways. She is a doctor that truly cares for her patients and has a passion for her job. You’re in good hands with Dr. Koppolu. I hope I don’t have to have another surgery, but if I do, I hope I’m lucky enough to have her as my anesthesiologist again. Thank you for changing my life.

I don’t even know where to begin. Dr. Koppolu saved me from a nervous breakdown while i was having a csection. She explained everything so clearly and thoroughly and was quite honestly the best dr I could ask for. She will always hold a special place in my heart because she was honestly so kind and respectful and also very professional.

She performed my epidural when I gave birth to my son. The epidural did not work at all. I asked my nurse to get her when I didn't have any pain relief. When I toldDr. Koppolu that it hadn't worked at all, she said, "Oh no!" Then she left the room without saying or doing anything else. She also billed me for services anyway. I had no issues with the epidural for my first child, so it's not that my body is immune to it or anything. It was very frustrating that she made no effort to make it right.
