My first 2 appointments were with Ms. Wallace - I liked her. Because she could see that I had lichen sclerosus, she suggested I see Dr. Welgraven, so I made the appointment. Dr. Welgraven wanted to do a biopsy to rule out cancer - I wanted to try treating the lichen sclerosus prior to biopsy. She stated that she would not treat the LS until I had the biopsy. So, I did the biopsy so I could get the treatment. She called me today with the results - she told me that unless I was itching, there was not a cure for the LS. I was upset when she told me that. I tried to explain the pain that I had been in since the biopsy, and she would not listen. She asked me why I didn't call her. I asked her why she did not give me any discharge papers on what to do for the pain. She told me before the biopsy that she would numb me up enough to last for 6 to 8 hours. I was in pain before I got home (30 minutes). I had a somewhat traumatic experience with another gyn when I had my son many years ago, so I was a mess during the biopsy because it hurt. She informed me today when she called to tell me my results, she said that my pain from the biopsy was PTSD from my prior trauma. She kept saying that during the biopsy. I have not been diagnosed with PTSD. Anyone cutting on your private area is traumatic, anytime, period. As I was telling her my experience this week, she kept talking over me and wouldn't let me finish. I told her I would not be back. Her response was, "I'm glad you do not have cancer." I asked if we were done. She was cold in the exam room and on the phone. I won't go back. I don't want anyone else to have the same experience that I did.

Instead of actually trying to get to the bottom of my hormone issues Dr. Romper suggested that I drink wine to help “set the mood” in the bedroom. She stated that I “looked healthy” so she wouldn’t be doing any lab work. I left her office frustrated and in tears. Do better, Dr.

Dr. Rompel knows her stuff; she's a skilled surgeon, compassionate, and explained everything along the way. My surgery with her was a very positive experience.

Dr. Rompel does not listen and does not care if you're in pain. If you're struggling with painful conditions-she will not care.
