Great Staff—Dr. MIA
I am doing this review because AE asked me to do it. I would have just as well had a call with them.In any event, I went to the appointment ready and excited to get lense replacement surgery so I could ditch reading glasses, knowing I'd pay around $15k out of pocket for both eyes. While the staff was great (though waiting 20 minutes with one other patient in lobby was disappointing), the doctor was MIA. I was diagnosed and given the sales pitch by an assistant (who told me she would be in trouble if I waited to talk to the doctor about the procedure instead of her). When finished she said the doctor would come by to say hello and look into my eyes, but that the visit was otherwise done. That was all I needed to know, so I politely left knowing this was not the place for me.My eyes are too important for me to not have a one-on-one with doctor. FYI, the friend who referred me loved her experience.

Premium Lens Replacement
After being in glasses for 60 years, I had premium lens replacement in both eyes by Dr. Wong. As I had a bad astigmatism, I was in hopes that I would be able to drive and see the TV. I assumed I'd still need reading glasses. The results exceeded my expectations. I see 20-15 and read the smallest line o the 'reader chart'. I was able to get an appointment and have the surgery scheduled within a week. His office runs an efficient ship. Dr. Wong and his staff were personable, courteous and professional throughout the process. I would recommend Dr. Wong for this 'life changing' procedure without reservation.

Dr. Shannon Wong and Austin Eye - Exceptional!
This is the second experience that I am having with Austin Eye. There business operation is extremely professional and courteous. Dr. Wong is absolutely candid, honest and transparent when it comes to explaining a client's options, and expected results, from whatever treatment is being considered. He has demonstrated great expertise and superior knowledge during the discussions that I have had with him regarding potential options for improving my vision.

I went in for a premium lens replacement in October 2021 with the idea that I’d have a better vision as they so strongly advertise. It’s 2024 and my vision is worse than it was when I started. Dr Wong said that’s as good as I’m going to have. I developed inflammation of the retina shortly after surgery and I’ve had several very painful and costly injections trying to reduce the inflammation to restore my vision but it’s been unsuccessful. My vision in one eye is 20/200 in my left eye and 20/40 in my right eye and I presently cannot drive as a result. This has impacted my quality of life. I encourage all to ask more questions and stand firm during the process if you feel rushed.

Never Too Old
My husband who is 89 and wheelchair bound decided he finally needed his cataracts removed. It would have better if it had been earlier, but better late than never. There was no question he would go to Dr. Wong since we both had gone there for years, but we were concerned about his transferring to the examination chair from his wheelchair and then found they had a room specifically for wheelchairs! How great is that! Concerns gone!

Run away don’t walk!!
Since Dr Wong opened his Taj Mahal, he gauges and over tests every single patient with so many unnecessary tests and it’s all not covered by insurance for a reason. Additionally both my husband and I paid $14K a piece to have our lenses changed so we would no longer need glasses, and I had to go back and get another surgery for additional fee of course, and my husband has been back 10 times to get correct fitting for lenses that have never worked since the surgery made his sight even worse. He should absolutely be reported.
