The best Pulmonologist for African American women with Sarcoidosis.

Over ten years ago I had my first "real" job with health insurance - this was back in the day when health insurance was only provided by an employer who felt like providing it. I was referred to Dr. Patel by a lady who used to work for the same company and was nice to younger women instead of being threatened by them. Working with Dr. Patel and his staff is one of the best medical experiences I have ever had. Over a decade later he's still in my top three and I am grateful I got to meet him and his team early in my health insurance/medical foray. He is (or was) a snappy dresser with lots of bright colors and plaid, did not follow the western limitations of time (ran late but NEVER rushed), was thorough, actually listened and made time to crack a joke here and there. His team was professional, efficient and compassionate in ways I admired then and try to emulate now. I highly recommend him to patients who want a doctor that provides real care, as opposed to run by an industry. :)

Dr. Patel can be counted on to do everything to put his overblown ego and career standing before, and even at the expense of, his patients' health. My life and health would have been so much better had I never met him.

Sent my husband home after a 3 day stay when he had Cirrhosis, Pneumonia and lung issues--told him if his conditions worsened to go to emergency at Olive View ----would not recommend as mu husband died 2 weeks later. Never gave him answers--never told him what to do nothing--incompetent and unprofessional

Sharad Patel needs a large dose of reality check. Nobody, including patients, families, nurses, doctors, and administrative staff at clinics and hospitals, understand his thick Indian accent. Moreover, Sharad Patel is a grumpy doctor that has lost his bedside care manners. At 72, I understand that he's worked as a doctor for many many years. Perhaps the time has come for Sharad Patel to retire; in India where his attitude fits. Mr. Patel, you are not God and can't play one since it's taken. RUDE
