Dr. Sharla Ulstad, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. Ulstad for more years than I can remember now. I was referred to her by my last doctor whom I adored but decided to finally retire, so the bar was pretty high. I was comfortable with her right away. When she’s with you….she’s with you. She listens, she explains well, and she’s very respectful. I’ve entered senior citizenhood now and she’s been helping me ease into that. It would have been scarier without her.

I have been with Dr. Ulstad since 2017 when I had my first miscarriage. She's been with me through multiple losses, 2 ectopics, and my 2 little miracle babies. I think she was more excited to see my first born on ultrasound than I was! She is so kind and compassionate and also fights for her patients. I couldn't ask for a better OB.

She throughly explained everything to me. It did not feel rushed or hurried. I appreciated her care. I highly recommend her.

Her kind tone, provides extra information, gives options. She is simply lovely.

Dr. Ulstad took time to go over the report which was reason for referral to her office. She took a detailed history from me and provided an illustration of the procedure. In closing appointment she invited me to contact office if I had any concerns or questions upon reflection on the information that she provided.

Dr. Ulstad performed an emergency ectopic pregnancy surgery on me. I met her in the ER while in extreme pain and she was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and clear with her communication. I am so thankful to her for making the swift decision to operate and for advocating for me.

Dr. Ulstad was an amazing physician through two pregnancies and unexpected cesarean deliveries. She is amazing at responding to questions in a calm and reassuring way. I would recommend her to any patient seeing obstetric care!

I have been with Dr. Ulstad for almost 20 years. My daughter also sees her. She is kind, caring, and a phenomenal doctor to have by your side. I can not express enough what a fantastic caring person she is. I have followed her when she has moved offices as I could never find anyone that compares to her.

Dr. Ulstead truly cares about you as a patient. She is very attentive, thorough, and always answered any questions I had. She made my first pregnancy and delivery a memorable one and I look forward to seeing her again in the future!

I have been seeing Dr. Ulstad off and on for a number of years. When my pcp couldn't get me in for my annual she referred me to Dr. Ulstad and I thought she was wonderful. So when we started trying to get pregnant she was the one I wanted as my OB. She walked through our journey with us referring us to specialists as needed and then resuming our care through my pregnancy. She is caring and open to any and all questions I had throughout. She was invested in my care and made an effort to be the one to deliver my baby. She is thorough, communicative and absolutely wonderful.

Dr. Ulstad listened to my symptoms and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment she recommended. She is so kind and caring.

Perhaps the most important characteristic of a good doctor (to me) is that they listen. Dr. Ulstad listened to me. Secondly, I was impressed that she took the time to read about my previous biopsy. Unfortunately, there was evidence in my exam that suggested she did not read all the paperwork I filled out in advance, but she did ask me about it before proceeding. More cudos! All-in-all, she appears to be top notch and thorough.

I am retired but appreciated the promptness of the Dr and her staff. Dr Ulstad seems very compassionate to her patients and passionate about her care for them

Dr. Ulstad made me feel very comfortable about the procedure she would perform. This was my 3rd time being referred to her. I had other choices but she’s the best.

Dr Ulstad is great! She is very competent and confident but still partners with you as the patient in all decisions. She makes sure you are informed, participating, and comfortable with all decisions in your care. She delivered two of my children and both deliveries went very smoothly, she was there along the way to check in as things progressed. Can’t recommend her enough!

I just love doc ulstad she is the best. She listens advises and is so knowledgeable and friendly with a wonderful bedside manner. I feel comfortable talking to her about anything even U of M sports. Lol

Dr. Ulstad is one of the most genuine physicians I’ve ever had. I started with her as soon as I graduated from my pediatric physician and have had her thru two pregnancies. Every year she greets me with a smile, asks about my family, etc. she truly cares about me and my health. I have recommended her to friends and family and they too love her! She’s knowledgeable and listens to all of your concerns. Thank you Dr. Ulstad!
