Dr. Sharon Heichman, MD

First I must state that I am a retired nurse and have worked in clinics most of my career. I have very complex GYN AND URINARY issues. I came to Dr Heichman on the advice of my PCP who was then pregnant with her first baby and Dr Heichman was her OB. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY HER!I found that Dr Heichman is very knowledgeable about the issues I have and I saw her for a follow up visit today. She was thorough, kind, answered all my questions and is dealing with my issues with good results. I would like to comment on someone who posted a review that the doctor never got back with her for abnormal results of tests. I have not had that issue and must say that I follow up on my test results through a patient portal and if I see an abnormal result and the clinician has not contacted me in a timely manner, I reach out to my doctor. We have a responsibility as patients to advocate for ourselves. I highly recommend Dr Heichman.

I was referred to Dr. Heichman for a mass on my ovary she told me it was nothing to worry about and scheduled me for a routine mammogram. Because I had signed up for the patient portal I checked it for the results and it said abnormal and that I needed an ultrasound so I called and scheduled it myself. The results came back negative for cancer again I got the results myself I never heard from Dr. Heichman or her staff. I have never in my life not had a doctors office not call me with results As being a medical assistant myself I am very surprised by this.

Please steer clear of this doctor as she operates on book knowledge and pre-conceived notions instead of listening to patients. While we asked specific questions and expressed concerns she only gave vague answers leading us on and often changing tune later. Her communication and listening skills are dangerously poor. Additionally, and much to our surprise, she used some medicines and methods that are much out of practice, alarmed other doctors and confused other medical staff. Her methods put extra stress on the patient. Worst of all her concern seems to focus on the fetus and does not fully take the mother into account. When dealing with a pregnancy there are two patients, not one. I was warned of her poor approaches by medical staffers that had seen her briefly and were already changing doctors. It's a shame to see a female doctor that doesn't honor a woman knowing her body.
