Blamed literally everything on being overweight
Went to her years ago... she literally used my weight as an explanation for any symptom. My sister who is not overweight went to her about headaches and she suggested that weight could be the cause. If I still went to her, I honestly may not be alive because I had an ovarian cyst the size of a watermelon that turned out to be cancerous with no other symptoms other than irregular periods and weight gain. I know that if I had stayed in that practice, Dr. Bodkin would have chalked up the irregular periods to weight gain and the cancer would have spread. Not only did she blame everything on being overweight (which I completely understand can cause a lot of health issues), but she was not sensitive in her approach and seemed to discount other underlying causes for weight gain, like depression, PCOS, etc. and implied that sheer willpower should be enough in any case. Because of her insensitive approach, I did not feel comfortable discussing my mental health with her.

As a healthcare provider myself, I would not recommend Dr.Bodkin. I often felt rushed in my appointments, with her talking to me as she's walking down the hallway. She mismanaged my medication and did not have thorough follow up with my care after after my abnormal labs. Thankfully, I am now seeing a new doctor who is straightening things out but this could have been avoided. I am feeling so much better now, not thanks to Dr. Bodkin.
