Dr. Sheldon Fleishman, MD

Doc is knowledgeable with great bedside manner. However, the front office staff doesn't understand how insurance deductibles work. We've met both of our OOP Family max and OOP Family deductible max. The staff insists I still have to pay my individual copay because my individual hasn't been met.I called insurance. They confirmed since we me Family, I don't have an individual copay. They asked me to have Doctors office call them. I did and the woman just argued with me. She said, 'I've heard enough. We have over 40 years of experience in the front office...' I interrupted them hung up on her. They don't listen.Doesn't matter how great of a doc he is front office staff killed it for me. Never again will I go to them.

Dr Fleishman and his office participate in dishonest and deceptive billing and scheduling practices. My wife went to their office in Overland Park to have her ingrown toe worked on. They scheduled her for a follow up 2 weeks post op When she showed up for her follow up visit, Dr Fleishman examined her toe all of two minutes and charged her a second co-pay of $75. We asked why it wasn’t covered under the initial charge and the office worker explained that it would have to have been within 10 days of the original appointment. I complained that this is a terrible practice that is predatory and intended to squeeze as much money out of their patients and their insurance company as possible. They claimed they have to operating this way for 40+ years. I would avoid this office like the plague. I’m going to file a complaint with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts if they don’t make it right.

Dr Fleishmen is the best ultimate old school doc one can find. He examined my feet, did an xray himself, found the issue, explained every little detail of whats going on, what can happen and the options I have. Yes, he is not sugar coating anything, he gives you facts and an opinion based in his knowledge and experience. If you don’t appreciate people that are straight forward with others, he is not your guy. I would honestly recommend him to every person I know (which I have already done) and trust me, he is smart and can help. Yes, you gotta pay for your visit, I am sorry, he is also a person and deserves to be paid for the great service he provides. THE BEST PODIATRIST OUT THERE!

You are required to have a credit card on file. They will not send a bill. They just charge your card when they want with no explanation of charges. Dr has poor manner and does not listen to your concerns. Stay away!

Leaving one star because I can't leave zero. They don't mail statements until they are threatening to send bills to collection. They give 48 hours to pay bills before threatening to send to collection (bill DOES NOT say the payment is late at all!) Very little eye contact. Little to no explanation of treatment options. No consent asked for exam or treatments. Refusal to discuss the treatment option I was actually seeking and was referred to get. Engaging with him for treatment was a mistake I will not make again.
