Well she only gave me 15 pages of intake forms and then tells me she doesn’t have time to read them…. When my meds weren’t working, and I told her I was getting worse she refused to adjust them. I couldn’t believe it! I had so much hope in her being able to help me and it ended up being a big waste of time. I could barely get out of bed to do my job. I was not okay.

Very rude, impatient, and does not make her patients feel welcome.

Dr Spirt is one of the few psychiatrists who accepts affordable insurances, but goodness does she nickel and dime you to make up for it. Her coldness and lack of empathy towards anything is also abhorrent. More often than not, I scheduled appointments with her that were supposed to last 20-30 minutes, but she would send me away after a measly 5 minutes of talking to me and then complain if I ask more questions because "I'm too busy, if you want to take up more of my time I'll have to charge you for another session". And the nickel and diming is absolutely atrocious, especially considering the vulnerable types of patients she sees as a Psychiatrist. You want a note for work? $100 charge. Prescription needs to be called in? Charge A simple copy of your chart that you need sent to another doctor? $.75 per page they have to fax Any kind of paperwork for FMLA/Disability/etc? "I charge $400 an hour and I'll tell you how much you owe me after I fill it out. Please leave a credit card

Awful! Terrible and abrasive bedside manner. This woman is complete clock watcher. I would expect a psychiatrist to possess a higher EQ and more sensitivity. Dr. Spirt - some very disturbed and wounded souls will walk through your office so you need to adopt a kinder and more sincere approach or get out of the business. It took me years to gain the courage to visit a therapist and after my experience with you it took me many more years. My experience with you was all business, no heart!

Dr. Spirt messed me up pretty royally; she had no clear concern for the interactions between medications. The dr. I started going to after her explained that the medications she prescribed to me should ALMOST NEVER be mixed. Additionally, she was pretty terrible with flexibility for appointments and charged $130+ if you were EVEN 15 MINUTES LATE. Which is funny b/c of course she always allows herself benefit of the doubt when issues arise and she can't make your appointment in time. Stay Away.

I LOVE Dr. Spirta- her treatment has improved my quality of life TREMENDOUSLY. She always listens to my needs and addresses my side effects. She takes a very scientific, methodic approach to medication, always printing out information so I can understand how medications work, what side effects I might expect, etc. I have been going to Dr. Spirt very regularly for a year and a half now and I would recommend her to family or close friends. She’s always available when you need her

Absolutely terrible. Rushes you in and out -- will literally tell you she doesn't have enough time for wordy responses to her questions. Barely looks up from her computer during the appointment and will prescribe just about anything to you. If you want to snag an easy prescription, she's the one to go to. So irresponsible. Been going to her for over a year because she's covered by my insurance and I needed to find someone, but I can't take it anymore. I barely feel like she knows me anyways.

Dr. Spirt was constantly asking me basic questions she should already know, mis prescribing medication, giving unclear directions and expectations. Her assistant is equally unhelpful, they both seem like they would rather be doing anything else than their jobs that they clearly hate. Dr. Spirt would constantly yell through the wall at her assistant, rifle through papers silently as I sat there, and be mean to her dog. She constantly wasted my time and made me feel very uncomfortable.

I would not recommend Dr. Spirt. She seems knowledgeable about a wide variety of medications, but her interaction with you is completely dependent on her mood. She has taken care of personal matters while I am in the office and often gets distracted from my needs by her dog that stays in the office with her. When the medication doesn't seem to work, she gets frustrated and was angered with me when I told her I want to take less medication (she had me on 4-5 different scripts at one point).

She's a competent doctor. BUT she charges ridiculous fees that no doctor has ever charged me for ($100 ANNUALLY for "administration", $20 ANNUALLY for each pre-authorization for prescriptions). I paid because she accepted my insurance and was able to give me an appointment within a week of my initial call and I really needed a script, but would switch before the 1 year is up so I don't get hit with fees again. Also, I love dogs, but if you don't, then this office is not for you.

I have no idea how she could make anyone feel like they're "ready to face the world" because she usually spends less than 10 minutes on each patient. She overbooks herself where any late person will set her schedule back 20 minutes and then blames it on the patients. I came late for an appointment and ended up waiting 5 hours trying to get a slot. She spend just as much time yelling at me to leave as she would have with a full 20 minute appointment.

When I initially saw Dr. Spirt, I could barely get out of bed to face the world. She is a miracle worker. I'm a totally different person able to cope with every day life; I can’t believe I’m happy. I just wish I would have listened to my friends, with regard to seeing a psycho pharmacologist. She has transformed my life. Awesome and fantastic! And the BIG perk is that she has an adorable lovable dog that instantly brings you back to the realities of what is important in life.

Does a good job selling meds. She is very knowledgeable but is in a rush to get you out of the office and makes quick diagnosis with no concern of side effects. She types during the whole appt and is not very personable unless your her 4 legged friend which she tries to push on you during your first visit.
