Dr. Shervin Assassi, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Assassi for about 5 years for my scleroderma. He is very thorough and extremely knowledgeable about scleroderma. I have had diagnosed mild scleroderma for about 10 years and went to Dr. Assassi for a confirmation. He confirmed that I do have scleroderma and has been diligent about making sure that I have the appropriate testing done for the past 5 years. I have just started experiencing some issues and have felt confident that Dr. Assassi will be able to treat me in the best possible way.

Dr. Assassi is one of the top researchers in scleroderma (systemic sclerosis). He is also an excellent practitioner for treating this complex auto-immune disease. He is easy to talk to and he takes time to explain the situation. He has treated me for five years, and I am doing very well under his care.

Dr. Assassi specializes in patients who have Scleroderma and other autoimmune diseases. I have been a patient of his for almost a year now. He is very direct about what you need or don't need in terms of treatments and medication. I used to be on a lot of medication before having him as a doctor. We went over my medication list and he ended up removing a lot of medication because it wasn't what I needed. He is the kind of doctor who help puts you on the best treatment plan and is with you every step of the way. He is very easy to contact and get a hold of for any questions you may have. He also makes sure to check in on you if he put you on a new treatment or medication. Having Scleroderma is very hard but after being put on the right medication & treatments I've never felt more better. All of the nurses there are so nice and helpful if you ask them for help.

I was looking for a doctor that was specifically specialized in Scleroderma as I needed to confirm that I had the condition so I could start managing the symptoms. Dr. Assassi not only confirmed that I had Scleroderma with blood tests and a nail-fold capillaroscopy, but he also answered all of my concerns and gave me peace of mind. He performs regular check-ups to see how I'm doing and if I need any specific treatment (every 3 to 6 months with blood tests, pulmonary function tests, echocardiograms, etc) and guides me through every step of the evolution of the condition. I've been with Dr. Assassi for two years and I am feeling great thanks to him. Dr. Assassi really is an expert in Scleroderma, he has over 15 years of experience treating and researching about this condition, he is currently performing the largest Scleroderma research in the US. If you have Scleroderma and are looking for real help I would advise you to see Dr. Shervin Assassi. He is the best.

Dr. Assassi is an excellent rheumatologist who was able to make the right diagnosis and treat my condition with a steroid injection.

I’ve been a patient since 2017. Dr Assassi is an outstanding specialist who is very professional, attentive and supportive. He literally saved my life. I was bed ridden/wheelchair bound and in debilitating chronic pain in all my joints. After 20 months of treatment for Adult Stiles and physical therapy I have regained the 55 lbs I lost (weight was down to 114) and I am able to walk and work with my hands again. In July 2019 I was able to climb Mt Fuji!

Dr.Assassin is fine but his receptionist sucks. Did get pass her to see on my second visit.
