Dr. Sheryl Stefaniak, MD

We have just begun seeing Dr. Stefaniak, after having been with our previous therapist for 14 years. We found herto be so respectful and refreshing. She addressed my son (19, with autism) directly and he came away with a very good feeling for her. She seemed to focus in immediately on his needs and our concerns. We look forward to a continued relationship with her. She was full at the time I first called her, but she got back to me as soon as she had an opening.

Both of my children have been under the care of Dr. Stefaniak for almost 2 years. My children's needs and issues are quite different. She is very knowledgeable about both of their needs and quite methodical about her approaches to the medications and interventions she recommends. She is wonderful! I would highly and whole-heartedly recommend her to any family because of her wealth of knowledge, professionalism and excellent rapport with families.

My son has been seeing Dr. Stefaniak for about six years. She is understanding, empathic, and patient. She is a mother as well so she understand the parent's struggles well. She is seldom aggressive about meds and provides thorough education about meds. She is also an excellent source of referrals for other resources such as therapists, therapy groups, psychoeducational groups, supplements, etc. She is thorough and gentle. Our family is indebted to her.

Dr. Stefaniak has been seeing our adult son who is in the Autism spectrum. She is very friendly and has helped us to better understand how he deals with difficulties. She has a good rapore with him and he enjoys visiting with her. She works well with the insurance companies; with regard to their finicky RX necessities. He has a therapy dog in her practice and our son enjoys being around the dog and he is more relaxed. I would recommend that anyone looking for a Psychiatrist contact her.

My young son has been seeing Dr.S for the past two years for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and ADHD. She's very knowledgable in her field. She's flexible with appointments and my son has developed a good relationship with her. We like her, trust her and my son is very cooperative with her. This says a lot. He's seen many different therapist in the past and often doesn't develop a great rapport with them as he does this doctor. She's well known and respected in Denver and the surrounding areas.

Dr. Stefaniak has been treating our daughter for about two years now. Mental illness is like a complicated jigsaw puzzle and she has been, and continues to be, willing to keep trying different treatments to find the combination that works best.

I'm not crazy about her. She seems cold and we're looking elsewhere.

Dr. Stefaniak is very cold and seems extremely superficial. We tried to stick with her for quite some time to see if the sessions would improve. My 16 year old daughter who suffers from depression/anxiety and ADD learned to just say as little as possible to get the session over with quickly. She was very rude when asked to please fax the prescription in, saying she didn't have the support for that. Yet there is a fax number provided when calling. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Stefaniak came highly recommended to us. However, she did not take adequate note when told of our child's increasing agitation and symptoms as she prescribed higher and higher dosages of the recommended drug. She lacked empathy, which was bizarre since she sees so many children. Additionally, we were left with no dependable contact information in her absence during a time when we had critical questions and concerns about dosages.
