Dr. Shi Loh, MD

Doctor and staff are kind and personable while effective and efficient. Lovely clean office. This very advanced double specialty physician was head of oncology and hematology at the local hospital but now concentrates on acupuncture in which he trained and practiced in the Far East for years before emigrating decades ago. He's a real MD of acupuncture, not just someone who took a course for a few weeks - or even a year or two. He used acupuncture to help his chemo patients handle their treatments. I've seen him several times for aches and pains, exhaustion, anti-aging, and more. He treats other problems, of course, and his treatments can be a great adjunct to other medical care. My friends whom I have sent rave to me about him. Very impressive. Staff explained that while medicare or other insurances might pay for an initial exam, they only sometimes, but mostly do not, pay for acupuncture, so be prepared. A lot better than, say, getting a massage for a small fortune!

If I could rate them a zero, I would. Completely rude woman to answer billing questions, not knowledgeable about their own billing policies. On date of service they said they will take the insurance, then send you a bill for $135 a YEAR later. However, they make you sign a paper saying you'll pay whatever bill they send to you. I have been to SEVERAL other acupuncturists in Jersey City area, all others perform same services and only charge co-pay and they have a MUCH better staff to handle billing or service questions. Will NOT use again and caution others to ask specific billing questions BEFORE you receive any service from them.

He completely cleared up any signs I had of my gastral intestinal issues. Never have to worry about single stomach ache again.

My physical therapist recommended that i see dr. Loh to help with a pinched nerve in my neck. Im 6 months, he waa able to help the nerve as well as hormonal migraines i have had for years. I have found him to be kind, informative and helpful. I recommend him, especially if you are at a place where the traditonal approachea are not really helping your medical ailment.

Per his advertisement he's definitely A Doctor Like No Other in that he has a terrible, even bullying bedside manner. During my very first consultation he was rude, obnoxious, impatient, judgemental and arrogant. AND the acupuncture needles caused me to bleed which has never happened before. And I paid $230 out-of-pocket for the honor because he doesn't take insurance. Steer clear!
