I simply do not have enough of good words to describe my experience with Dr. Barathan. He gave my Mom at least eight additional years to live and enjoy her family. From the very first visit he demonstrated superb knowledge in the treatment plan of my very fragile Mom who had chronic kidney failure on the top of COPD and congestive heart failure. He was leading us though multiple hospitalizations, pneumonia, countless follow up visits and we trusted him with all our hearts. All her conditions were chronic and Dr. Barathan was paying very close attention to the slightest changes in her blood tests. Very often he was calling me after office hours with all the results and changes in medications if needed. He also has absolutely outstanding bedside manners and the psychological impact of his continued care and support had absolutely stunning effect on my chronically ill Mom. If somebody in my family has any health issues, Dr. Barathan will be the one to whom we all would run.

Dr. Barathan failed our family when he cared for my father. My father suffered kidney failure and had been on the same immunosuppressant for many years. Dr. Barathan changed his medicine to one that has a side effect of malignant lymphoma. My father ended up dying not from kidney failure but from this lymphoma, which he would not have otherwise been susceptible to. Dr. Barathan also did not catch the condition when it arose, leaving it to grow for months. Go to someone at UCLA or another dr.
