Not Professionally Mannered
The doctor without provocation was verbally offensive. I was there for help with digestive issues. Rather than use the opportunity to assist or offer education he leaned forward and in a nasty tone told me my gut was lazy because I'm on specific diabetic medicine so the slow digestion was ALL my fault for taking the medication my specialist placed me on. He insulted my body, insulted my intelligence. I happen to be highly educated as well though seems since he made partner he has a sense of entitlement, ego driven. I responded by allowing him to go on as he seemed to need to vomit all these insults. I have a strong background in behavioral health so I just allowed his angry words and insults to flow as I have for my own patients who were in such a state. I would not recommend him and will never see him again nor will my spouse who was also a patient and witnessed his outrageous unprofessional behavior. I would not allow someone I cannot trust to touch me in anyway.

Not Interested in Dialogue
Dr. Shah was extremely patronizing and made me feel like a pseudo-intellectual for bringing my concerns about my microbiome up to him. He was not at all interested in treating the true nature of my symptoms. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2019, then in 2021 I developed crohns and c diff. This man was extremely callous towards me during the most difficult moments of my life and the staff hung up on me multiple times when trying to reach them. I would recommend going to a GI doctor that is open to dialogue and actually takes time to listen to your concerns. This gentleman will not receive another dime from me moving forward.

When my husband had his first visit I was concerned because Dr Shah seemed brash. Was very "no nonsense". Wanted all details and when my husband didnt know the exact medications and doses, I answered. Dr Shah stated "It's nice that you have your own secretary but this is YOUR body, so you need to know this." We were irritated but at this point in his medical issues we just wanted help. He followed up the following week with a colonoscopy. After seeing how sick my husband was, he jumped right into a strong care diagnosis. Within 2 months my husband was feeling MUCH better. He will receive treatments for the rest of his life, but we truly believe Dr Shah saved his life. He may not have the best bedside manner but as long as he's helping my husband have a normal, active, and healthy life, we couldn't care less! This man is extremely smart and knows his stuff! He takes the time to answer anything we ask. He is VERY no nonsense. That seems to just be his personality. But he knows his stuff!

Spent little time with me, and made light of my existing allergic condition despite past hospitalizations. He couldn't assure me I'd be safe so I opted not to do it (a routine colonoscopy due to being 50 years old). He then sent multiple rude certified letters to my home stating I was "at risk" and not adhering to the regime that he "instructed me to follow" and he "will stop providing medical care" (I only had one visit so what's to stop?) and he "must terminate the relationship". Wow.

No complaints whatsoever. Dr. Shah is THE BEST. Kind, gentle, knowledgeable, caring, efficient. Medical office is pleasant. Great staff. Great surgical facility (connected). I have been seeing him for 20 + years. Totally trust him. Highly recommend. Sent my son to him also.
