Horrible office staff left me waiting for over 2 hours. Then never scheduled the required surgery after they assured me they would. When I called them to schedule it, they refused me service.

Dr explained what he found after examining me...I felt much better...

Lengthy wait for a very short exam by the specialist. 130pm appointment; saw the specialist at approx 245pm after reciting issues to nurse, then resident, then again to Doctor. I appreciate it's a teaching hospital but it wasn't clear that info had been completely relayed. Specialist dealt with the immediate concern but not the others related and relayed to nurse and resident. Being handed an info sheet on hydration and fiber does not address 30 plus years of pre-cancerous concerns. Will be looking elsewhere for follow up.

It was magnificent the nurses were great and the doctor was just amazing kind understanding gently caring felt so happy to have been seen there

One thing I like about UCI facilities, including Dr Shanmugan is they are very organized. The facilities are clean. The nurses are very friendly and the staff is very friendly. The doctors are willing to listen and hear what you have to say and I appreciate that.

Regarding the person's use of a sanitizer, it is virtually impossible to remember whether I saw them or did not see them use the sanitizer. I see this question appear on all of these questions for different doctors and different projects, and it's the same. There is no option to say I do not know or I did not see or I did not notice. All of these questions require a yes or no answer to some degree. End.

Your people lived up to their great reputation! I know I will get the best care with my surgery!

Very impressed with Dr Shanmugan and his nurse who came up to the Gastro Group in Victorville, CA. I received a text on Monday, 4/8/2024, to make my appointment for a CT Scan. I called and Ken, who was to make the appointment said he couldn't do it if I wanted to have the scan at Elite Imagining in Victorville. After several calls to UCI and several transfers to other Departments I'm STILL waiting for a call from Morgan, a nurse at Dr Shanmugan's office. Maybe someone would contact the Dr's office for me. Thank you.

My experience was great. I appreciate how much the staff cared about making sure my needs were met.

The doctor and staff in the clinic did an amazing job. They were very clear and concise. They explained everything that needed to be explained to me. They asked if I had any further questions. I didn't feel like I was being rushed to being let out of there. And when I had my examination, the doctor was very clear in what he would be doing, and he took into account whether I was in any pain to assure that there was no pain. All in all, great experience. I would recommend you guys to anybody that would need a colorectal surgeon. So keep up the great work. Thanks.

In general the UCI facility / campus is very poorly run. The logistics of running a customer friendly business is a complete failure. THE PARKING and the ability to find the correct building becomes almost impossible. The various buildings are poorly marked and the address to my appointment was not specific to the building I needed to find. The valet is a sea of cars that blocks through traffic and a nightmare to navigate around. The parking structure is far from the buildings and congested beyond belief. How can I be expected to trust my health to a facility/medical group that is unable to manage a parking lot? My appoint was at 2:15 and despite the challenges I arrived on time. I was not seen by the doctor until 4:15. I waited more than 2 hours for a consultation. By any standard of customer service this a failure. The staff and Dr were very courteous. This is a failure of the medical group and not the Nurse/ Doctor. I hope this information is taken constructively. Good luck.

We went to visit Dr. Shanmugan for a second doctors opinion, however he was very rude and didn't like it when we ask for different options. He treated my wife, the patient, very poorly, not listening and outright dismissing all of our concerns. When we ask about possible symptoms from his recommended treatment, he says there is no such thing.

My appt was at 8am, while in the waiting room I saw the doctor I was schedule to see arrive after my appt start time. This was disheartening. I wasn't seen by the doctor until 45 minutes after my scheduled appt time. During the appt the doctor seemed annoyed/irritated to be there or to be seeing me for my issue. At the end of the visit, he stated to come back in ONE YEAR if I'm having the same issue. While I understand what he was saying to prevent my issue, I think waiting a year is a bit inconsiderate.
