Dr. Socorro Montes, DPM

Visited Dr Montes and she said we could do a nail biopsy if I wanted to be extra safe (she said it's not really necessary, just a 'too be safe' procedure, in order to rule some things out). I CLEARLY stated she could only do this if the labs from their partner lab (Sagis DIagnostics) would be under $100 otherwise NOT to send it to them, which she promised. I was subsequently billed $940 from the lab alone (unauthorized at that amount) and $369 from her office. I had to dispute this forever, and still ended up paying $369 as well as $225 to the labs which was then self pay- i.e. did not even go towards my deductible. She tried to sell me on lots of other expensive procedures that another specialist later confirmed were not needed at all. She seems intent to make money off you and makes false statements around the costs- beware.

I really appreciate her politeness and attentiveness! I'm sorry to her she is leaving this practice , but I wish her the best at her next practice!

Dr. Montes is a very thorough, competent doctor who listens well. She remembers what we talked about on previous visits regarding my feet and asks specific questions about how they've been. Her manner is friendly and personable.

In my life, I have never met a doctor like Dr. Montes, who takes the time to explain exactly what is going on. Dr. Montes is extremely knowledgeable and yet finds a way to bring it down to the patient's level of understanding. She is compassionate and cares deeply about pain management, short and long-term healing processes, and contingency plans. She is also very upbeat and you leave the office feeling like everything will be just fine.

Listens carefully. Offers all options. Explains the good and bad of each option. Great bedside manner! Very straightforward. Explains each step in the process.

She takes a real interest in your healing.

I checked in for an 8:30 am appointment. Within 5-10 minutes I was taken back to an exam room. I waited for and long time and eventually dozed off. I woke up and went to the door and asked a young man what time it was. To my surprise, it was around 10 am. He told me I would be next. No one notified me if there was a delay or what the problem was. I didn't even get an apology. I said I had better things to do with my time and left. A couple of days later, I called to speak with the office manager to make sure I was not billed for the non-appointment. The receptionist transferred me to her phone - just got a voice mail. I decided to call back later in the morning. The second time that morning, I called and was informed that the office manager would not be in the office until 2 pm. Time to look for a better run office.
