I just returned from my second visit with Dr John. He is a good listener and a wise responder. He appears to have a sincere interest in my concerns and gave me sage advice on a number of issues. I hope he will be my GP for many years.

Best PCP Provider
I followed Dr. John like many patient to West Chester once he left Penn. Dr. John is very kind, thorough, and a great listener. He never makes you feel rushed or pressured and he really gets his patients involved in their care. He is hands down the most responsive provider I've ever encountered when it comes to portals. I cannot recommend him enough.

He's the Beat
I was a patient of Dr. John's when he was practicing in Kennett Square. He is now in West Chester, PA and I happily drive the 45-60 minute drive from Newark, DE, where I now live, to see him. He is laid back but knows what he is talking about-- he has great bedside manner and remembers personal details about his patients.

Dr. John is THE BEST practitioner out there. He is kind, thoughtful and really listens. He takes the time to get to know his patients and you never feel like you are just another number in the endless line of patients. He is what every doctor should be!!

I like Dr. John a lot. But today was sheer disappointment on his office handled my situation. I have a cough and due to the CV scare, my office asked that I work from home until it clears. But they would like a letter from my doctor for my file. I called the office and they were not able to see me because they don't have protocol in place. I then asked for a note just to say I should work from home until my cough clears and she refused. She was unaccommodating and unhelpful. She wouldn't give me an appointment or a letter. What is a working patient suppose to do? I call my OB (I'm pregnant btw) and she tells me to call them back cause they need to see me. I call her back again and she refuses to be flexible in any way. Anyway, when its routine, they are great. But when they are under distress, they are not able to adapt. I guess I'm looking for another family practitioner because his staff is not trained properly to handle "emergencies".

Dr. John is a wonderful doctor. The main problem is the arrogance of his staff and being able to schedule a sick visit appointment. It is almost impossible to see him anymore. Even calling early in the morning as he suggested no longer works. So he can be the greatest doctor but if you cannot see him, he becomes worthless.

While Dr. John is a caring and skilled physician, he is working in a practice with poorly trained front-end clerical staff. If you can make it to the medical staff you will have great care, from the medical assistant to the new PA Lyndsey Calio to Dr. John, himself. I have sent comments about the office staff so I don't know if there will be improvements there. Too bad, this could have been the perfect practice.

Dr John does not care about the well being of his patients. After being healthy for 3 years and not having to see him, I have been experiencing some abdominal issues. I called to set up an appointment, but was told I am no longer a patient of his because of not seeing him for three years, even though my wife (under my insurance) still is seen. The receptionist on the phone laughed at me and told me to go to urgent care. Sad.

Don’t try get an appointment if you are sick. My mother in law died before Dr. John would see her a week in a half ago. I tried get an appointment today. No luck. Call back tomorrow and see there a cancellation. The office staff is rude and arrogant.
