direct and professional doctor focused on helping
I just started with Dr. Azar after 20 years with my primary doctor who retired. After first meeting, I believe i will stay with Dr. Azar. He is serious about medicine and focused on helping you with your health conditions your medical care. After all, that's why we visit doctors. If you need,, or are used to, alot of conversation and emotionally it makes you feel better, perhaps Dr. Azar is not for you. Dr. Azar is a patient, direct, and professional doctor so I am sticking with him.

Disappointing successor to my retired internist!
Dismissive, condescending, inconsistent. First sentence: 'You are obese. But it's probably too late to do anything about it.' I was 65. Sentence 2: 'We're (who were 'we'?) going to wean you off' antidepressants, despite my psychopharmacologist warning me not to try to do that. Final sentence: 'What would you rather do, gain weight or have a stroke?'

I saw him only once after my regular doctor left the practice. During that visit he took my blood pressure and when it was a bit high, he told me to "stop eating so many fried foods". Except I don't eat fried foods. We hadn't discussed my diet. And everyone in my family has elevated BP. So I guess he didn't read my chart either. He went on to insult my usual doctor for prescribing me asthma meds (which help me breathe!) and refused to refill that prescription. I have a new doctor now, at a different practice.

He was very condescending and dismissive when talking about my health issues. The last two visits were horrible he made me feel like im making up my health concerns even with photographic evidence presented. It was clear to me he didn't care to hear what I was going through. I walkout on the last visit and went to the emergency room to get help later that night because it was clear to me he didn't want to do a simple routine office procedure. He made that clear when he told me to go to another doctor even though I had this issue dealt with there in the pass and when I brought that up he then went to "see if it could be done" he came back and said yes. I decided not to do it there and leave because of how I was treated. There is nothing worse than feeling like you dont matter and that's exactly how I felt after that visit.

Dr Azar is one of the best doctors I've seen. He is very thorough, asking and answering questions and makes sure I understand what has been discussed. When I call in with a question the doctor's nurse or the doctor always get back to me within 48 hours (non-emergency). I feel that I am getting excellent health care from him.

I agree with a previous reviewer, Dr. Azar is very curt. His responses were basically read out of a book and not customized to the individual. Due to heredity, I have high cholesterol, so he suggested I lose weight and diet. However, I am an athlete with a BMI of 21 and eat a diet of vegetables, lean meats and healthy grains. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but it only lasted a second visit.

I like this doctor. Although he is straight to the point he is on top of things and will refer you to the proper care to make whatever issues with your health normal again. My gramma loves this guy and I'm glad she referred him to me. Only thing is I'd like to see him smile a little bit more. Guys got the meanest poker face

Dr. Azar was very curt, to the point of rudeness, did not give me much of a chance to tell him my concerns, and interrupted me often. The Dr I had at this office previously was Dr. Lisa Dorsey and she was wonderful, but she left and they assigned me to Dr. Azar. I am going to see where Dr. Dorsey went it find a new doctor!!
