My recent visit started in the best way possible when returning to your spinal specialist because your condition has been worsening: 'I have to go in 15 minutes'.... Cool... I'm approaching 6 months of dealing with a lumbar spine disc herniation. The trajectory of my healing and general life has been getting worse. I saw Dr. Chandran about 6 weeks ago and scheduled a follow up because I was running out of vacation days and my pain was making it harder to get through work days sitting. I wanted him to sign off on some short term leave so I could get time to actually heal without prolonged sitting, get to a strength where I could do PT, and then return to work. Apparently this was a crazy request. He proceeded to play all the greatest hits: 'It's in your head', 'you are anxious', 'you might have to live with this indefinitely', 'there is nothing we can do for your pain', 'escalating pain during the day is fine'.

Could not care less if your pain issues improve. Unwilling to work WITH patient in any way at all. I felt as if I were an inconvenience to him the one time I saw him, the one time I spoke with him in the shortest telehealth call in history and the time he refused to refer me someplace else when I requested it. Say away

I was misdiagnosed and sent to Dr. Chandran for lower back pain. Despite "Covid 19 mania", he was patient and listened to all of my symptoms, checked all my history, ordered tests and an MRI. Turns out the pain, tingling, numbness, was from a tumor near the base of my neck. It's so important to have a physician who listens and is thorough. If I had stopped at my first appointment, I wouldn't have known my condition was much more serious. Very glad I was sent to him.

Very grateful to have been sent to him by my PCP. Chronic pain can be difficult to manage and he does not practice " one size fits all "treatment. Instead is willing to listen to you and is very good about keeping up with options.

Dr. Chandren cares for his patients through a wonderful bedside manner. He's an attentive listener and goes above and beyond to make you feel like your health is important to him. He follows up and follows through and is a physician who has great integrity. I drive an hour to see him and will continue to do so because he's worth the time; plus he's very punctual which is considerate of me as well. ~W Thomas
