I agree with Nina to the T. I also read all wonderful reviews and once I met with Dr and staff I was comfortable to get my upper eyelids done with Dr Lyengar. I also woke up in middle of the surgery, experiencing excruciating pain on my eyelids. After surgery my eyes swell up like a balloon. It was like I just was in a rocky movie after a fight, He claimed that this was normal. Showing those pictures to my current plastic surgeon ( whom by the way I have to see to get a corrective procedure to fix Dr Lyengar mess) He said he rarely seen post op complications like mine...."Something must of gone wrong"Now I have extra skin on my eye lid and its very difficult to correct some one else's surgery, when in reality it should have been a straight forward surgery. Please stay away, it takes one mistake to scar you for life and if it has happened to two people it could happen to you. Be aware!

I knew I needed Upper Bilateral Blepharoplasty done because my droopy eyelids were affecting my vision. I had to turn lights on during the daytime because my eyelids were half-closed. I already had the best Ophthalmologist, Dr. James Davies, for my Macular Degeneration and my cataracts and because he recommended Dr. Iyengar I had total confidence that he would be the best. As they say, "the Best always refers the Best"! I decided that since I needed upper eye surgery I probably should have surgery on the bags underneath my eyes at the same time. I am so happy I had Dr. Iyengar do both upper and lower because the difference is incredible. Dr. Iyengar an amazing surgeon, he actually called me two different times after my surgery to see how I was feeling and if I had any questions for him.....never had a doctor do that and I have had several surgeries in my life! Not only did he fix my eyelids but taking out the bags underneath my eyes also made a huge improvement!

Dr. Iyengar did a fantastic job on my lower lid blepharoplasty. After being injured from a steroid injection to treat a chalazion by another physician, I went to several other physicians who inspected, tested and did not help in the slightest. Frustrated and disappointed I searched for the best in the business and found Dr. Iyengar. After travelling across the country to meet with him, he assured me he could take care of the situation easily. I booked a surgery with him and a few weeks later when it came time for surgery he and the team were great. A few weeks after the surgery the swelling and bruising went away and I looked like my old self again. I would highly recommend Dr. Iyengar and for any patients looking to just get the problem fixed and not go through the time, effort, frustration, and spending money on physicians who just treat you like an ATM, give Dr. Iyengar a call for a consultation, you will be glad you did and more than happy with the results. I look like myself again! This is what I looked like ten years ago. I can’t say enough good things about what an incredible doctor and artist Dr. Iyengar is. I felt so relaxed throughout the process knowing I was in the very best hands. I got my lower eyelids done and within a week there was practically no swelling. I never did bruise. Thank you Dr. Iyengar!

Dr. Iyengar was recommended by my Ophthalmologist to correct the saggy eye lids. I was not disappointed in the results. From beginning to end, had great care by the Doctor and his staff. Both eye lids match, look better than before, and my eye sight is greatly improved. Dr. Iyengar is both skilled and an artisan as evidenced by my results.

I read a lot for work, and once I hit my mid 40s, not only did my near vision go, but I was having issues with eye watering and a film over my vision. Dr. Iyengar performed a blepharoplasty. The procedure itself was fast and painless. The only part that was hard is that I'm sensitive to adrenaline, and the anesthetic contains adrenaline to stem bleeding. I let the nurse know immediately when I felt the symptoms, and Dr. Iyengar waited until my heart rate settled and the nausea dissipated before starting surgery. The rest went without issue. I looked puffy for about 2 days, and was then able to go about my normal life with some sunglasses to mask the stitches. Those came out 8 days later, and nobody could even tell that I'd had surgery. I didn't know if the blepharoplasty would significantly help my eye issues, but it has! No more watery eyes, no more film. I can now wear reading glasses and read without issue. And I have eyelids again! I look more awake and alert than I have in years!

Had upper blepharoplasty. Eye and lid frozen but did not use any anesthesia so was awake throughout procedure and threw up from nerves, antiseptic smell and smelling cauterization during procedure. Do not recommend being awake for this. 2 weeks out and results are uneven and eyes are droopy on sides. Have requested follow-up consult to discuss correction. I did a lot of research and everybody reported amazing results, which was not my experience. Dr and staff are pleasant.

I was referred to Dr Lyengar because my right eyelid was drooping too low. He recommended surgery. Assured me that insurance would cover it which it did. Surgery went good and my eyelid looks great. I would definitely recommend dr lyengar to family and friends.

Had numerous skin tags around my ?? eyes removed. Great results! Very nice professional office staff and Dr.iyengar has great people skills, gave me plenty of time for questions. Nice guy.

I highly recommend Dr. Srinivas Iyengar ! I had a blocked tear duct. My left eye was tearing & very swollen. I went to another Surgeon who informed me that he would have to make an unsightly cut / gash on the side of my nose. It scared me terribly so I went back to my GP and He referred me to Dr. IYENGAR of San Diego Eyelid Specialist. He and his wonderful Assistant Cristina put me at ease. Dr. IYENGAR cleaned out my tear duct and introduced a tiny invisible stent in the corner of my eye . Three months later he removed it and I haven’t had anymore tearing or problems. During my recovery when I had any questions His staff would get back to immediately to assist me and answer my questions.

Well watching ABC 10 news this morning I saw this feature about the ORBIS flying eye hospital which just returned from Ghana. Dr Iyengar was one of the doctors on it. I know from my experience at Dr Iyengar's office he is a GREAT doctor helping people around the world improve their eye sight. He helped me with the eye lid surgery. I had the good fortune of a referral from my eye doctor to visit Dr Iyengar to have a small growth removed from my lower eye lid, with confidence. He than asked to do the peripheral eye test. I had the eye lid surgery done and OH what a difference in my vision. He is very easy to talk to and never rushes you when you have questions. He has complete confidence in the procedure. Once again he is a GREAT DOCTOR not only here but around the world. Way to go Dr Iyengar

My dermatologist highly recommended and referred me to Dr. Iyengar for a blepharoplasty. Dr. Iyengar listened to all my concerns and patiently answered all of my questions. We addressed my outcome goals. I desired a natural more rested appearance. He examined and took photos of my eyes and gave me honest, realistic expectations. I could not be happier with the results he was able to achieve. I highly recommend Dr. Iyengar and his team.

When I fell down stairs, gashing my head next to my eye, urgent care sent me to Dr. Iyengar for stitches. The gash was near my eye and imperfect stitching would have affected my eyesight. Even though this was an emergency situation, Dr. Iyengar and staff calmly took care of the problem efficiently. Stephanie is an efficient, personable receptionist. Christina was very attentive and competent during and after surgery. Dr. Iyengar is wonderful!!! Taking a chance with a doctor I didn't know was scary, but he put me at ease right away. The stitching he did was perfect. I have sewn all my life as a hobby. His neat, evenly spaced stitches were perfect. When he took them out, it brought tears to my eyes because the work turned out so beautiful. I am sure that, if I use my scar cream, the scar will disappear completely. I highly recommend Dr. Iyengar for his personable manner, unique competence, and complete professionalism. I couldn't be happier!!!

Dr. Iyengar is an amazing oculoplastic surgeon. A superficially invasive squamous cell cancer was discovered on my right lower eyelid. After removal by Mohs surgery, Dr. Iyengar was able to close the hole left by the removal and recreate my lower eyelid so that after four months it looks almost perfect--minus a few eyelashes! I am so grateful for his superb talents and gentle manner. I highly recommend him; he is the best!

I had some ingrown eyelashes on the rim of my eyelid that would grow into my eye. It was very uncomfortable, a constant scratching on my eye lens. I had put up with this for years, tweezing them once they were long enough, a real nuisance. Dr. Iyengar permanently remove them, what a relief. Dr. Iyengar was great! Professional, personable & a talent in his specialty. His office staff was very helpful in dealing with insurance company. I would most definitely recommend Dr. Iyengar & his staff.

I'm so lucky Dr. Iyengar performed my surgery. He did my upper lids and they healed beautifully. I went with the in office surgery, which is a room fully equipped. I was able to speak with him during surgery and it really didn't take very long. He is very professional, a perfectionist, and very personable. ??????
