Dr. Stacy Smithson, MD

He treated me like an animal, I felt like I was at a vets office. When I asked questions about the procedure he was performing on me, he looked over at my partner and responded. When he administered lidocaine he stated it was going to be a “little pinch” and smirked at my partner and winked. He called my partner “daddy” even though I stated I wasn’t pregnant and took a urine test at the office that confirmed that fact. He talked down to me, invalidated my pain and called me “sweetheart” multiple times after I asked him not to. I have never had a worse experience and felt more dehumanized by a physician.

Dr Stacy is the best doctor he’s more than a Dr he’s like family including Abby & Amy. They are the best team. He’s a very straight up person tell you like it is ex: like a father they best one that make sure there kids are taking care of very well. Dr Stacy makes sure he patient are taking care of. You don’t find to many Doctors that take they time to listen and help you with your problems make sure you ok. But when you do better make sure you stick with them. Wouldn’t trade Dr Stacy for nothing. I love his spirit he can brighten up a room

I have been a patient of Dr. "Stacy" for over 20years and going strong. He is one of the BEST doctors in SC! He always has a beautiful smile on his face and his character is always upbeat. He has a beautiful voice, he sings in a band, and he can lower your apprehension (if any) within minutes of seeing him. You know how us ladies hate to go to a gynecologist and "spread our legs or those stirrups we dread so much!) On an annual visit I put a Kleenex over my face before he came in, well he started laughing and when it got time for his exam on my breasts, he bent down under the Kleenex and said, "You want a Tic-Tac?" He is absolutely a gem and I love him to pieces! He is such a hoot. One of the Best Doctors I have had the pleasure of having...he doesn't just treat you as a patient, he treats you like a person, a very special person! There is not enough words or room for AMY or ABI, except their the icing on the cake. I love them all so much. Couldn't or wouldn't want to do w/o.

Dr. Smithson has been my obgyn for 16 yrs , I woudnt go to anyone else.Hes the best. Highly recommend.

Went in today to voice my concerns about my cycle. Instead I got literally yelled at because I didn't make an appt as soon as he thought I should. This was follwed by a lecture on "being an adult". He made no attempt to listen to any of my concerns, answer any questions, or do any kind of tests for anything that might cause my issues. Instead I was told that polyps/fibroid tumors "don't happen at 22" and given no options other than birth control pills despite me saying I don't want them.

Dr. Smithson is WONDERFUL!! He has a BIG heart!! He cares about his patients and goes over and above to help you. I have been with him 17 years, my Mother goes to him too. He discovered she had cancer in May. She has now had a hysterectomy and Chemo. He calls her at home about every 2-3 weeks just see how she is doing. Like I first said he is WONDERFUL!!!

I have been with Dr. Smithson since 1999. He is an excellent person being a doctor is second. He brings you into his office the first time you see him. He's not taking to you on the examination table. He really cares about you as a person first so it makes you being his patient very easy. I had my third child with him and he was very caring through the process. My son did not survive which was hard for me but he was there to make me as comfortable as I could be.

I would recommend him to anyone looking for an OB/GYN. He really listens, understands, and explains things to you. I first took my daughter to him when she was a teenager and she absolutely loves him. We both have dealt with endometriosis, which she is still dealing with. But he has been there always looking for the best solutions for my daughter.
