Endoscopy
Met Dr Vernace at Doctors Hospital, was hospitalized for dizziness (extreme) and needed diagnostic endoscopy. Dr Vernace and her team were very good, couldn’t been any better. Specifically she put me at ease with her explanation and procedure was totally painless. She followed up while I was hospitalized and answered all my questions. Can highly recommend and will be following up with her for my treatment

Gastro Health terrible service
I am overdue for a colonoscopy. Since December 2021 I have called the office various times. I had a teleconference on 1/19/2022. No one has followed up except to send me a bill. I was told I could get a colonoscopy in April. This morning I was told not until May.

Everything from this experience was poor. First of all, when my regular doctor was not available, they assigned me to her. That was fine I needed a procedure and didn't think it would matter much. But - I needed to go to a pre visit - they were super busy, the place was a madhouse, and then I received no information and was unable to schedule the procedure there, I was told to "call back"so what was this $500 visit for? NO communication from anyone on the procedure itself. I had to sift through information to find out what prep was even required. Then I could not reach the doctor the day of to confirm a few questions I had. It was the worst medical service I have ever experienced. Then after the procedure, I am one month and still have not received any communication on results. I have been calling - no response. I would never recommend this doctor and her staff who do not seem to care one bit about the patient.

My husband's tele appt. was at 3:00 p.m. Unlike other medical practices we have dealt with, no one from the office called us, we were not given a code to enter into the app, and after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes we just gave up. Not the most confidence building exercise.

Dr Vernace enters the room as if she is too busy. After she sent you for testing, she comes back in the room and says "may I help you? after 30 seconds is obvious that she has not taken the time to read the complete results, so she acknowledges one type of infection, not two. On the third appointment she did not bother to review all 4 reasons why I was coming. When I mentioned, she asked if I wanted to see someone else. She may have knowledge, but no bed side manners.

I find Dr. Vernace and her staff to be friendly, trustworthy, and very professional. I have only praises for her. I felt confident and trusting when I went for a colonoscopy in 2015, and procedure went smoothly. I found her bedside manners to be excellent, she was caring, comforting and encouraging. I then took my mother to see her. Now we are both Dr. Vernace's patients. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Vernace was extremely careless about diagnosing me with ulcerative colitis even though my symptoms were textbook UC and I have a family history of UC. Under her care, my symptoms got worse and I lost 11 lbs in 6 weeks. At one point neither her or her assistant would return my phone calls as I waited over two weeks for her to review test results and I was too ill to go in person so my husband had to go in person to finally get an answer from her. Needless to say, I moved on to another doctor.

I wouldn't recommend you to use Dr. Vernace for the sole reason that she has no regard for her patients as human beings and she completely lacks bedside banner. She and her staff reflect her same image.
