Dr. Stephanie Ricci, MD

I have gone to Dr Ricci and staff PA’s for years. She is thorough and professional. She is a very busy Doctor so yes you have to wait sometimes. I’ve always received excellent care. Highly recommend.

I visited Dr. Ricci for her supposed expertise in menopause, but my experience was deeply disappointing. After spending hours working with my insurance and PCP to secure coverage for the visit, I was told upon arrival that I had to choose between a medical history review and an annual exam—an absurd choice, as both are integral to a comprehensive assessment.Dr. Ricci seemed rushed from the moment she entered the room. The entire appointment lasted barely five minutes. She skimmed through my complex medical history, ignored critical details like my early menopause, and hastily prescribed HRT without thorough evaluation. She left in a hurry, clearly prioritizing her schedule over my care.As a healthcare provider myself, I found this conduct unprofessional and unacceptable. I reported the incident to my insurance, requesting they deny payment. To make matters worse, a week later I experienced discomfort and pelvic pain due to the high-dose treatment she prescribed.

If you want to wait at least 1 hour to be seen for an appointment - go to her office. If you value your time, go and see another doctor. If you want a doctor that cares and doesn't see a dollar sign instead of a person - Stay away from this office!!!

She used to have raving reviews and seemed that she truly cared, but now, it seems that all she cares about is how much she can bill you. What she may not realize is that she’s making it very obvious; she doesn’t even act like she cares anymore.I only go to her for my annual visit, and this is the second time that she billed me for an “office visit” instead of an annual (which should be fully covered by my insurance). I didn’t ask her any questions, she just talked the whole time and did the routine exam. She will give you information that you’re not even asking for and adds the “office visit” code. Their reasoning, “because she discussed with you X and Y”. Beware.

Dr. Ricci was on call overnight at Hoag Newport when my wife went into labor. After 3 hours of pushing the nurse called the Dr. (Ricci) she came in and within 90 seconds prepared the room. Once she realized there was a shoulder dystocia she called in the nicu team and additional help. Within 60 additional seconds there were about 18 nurses in the room supporting Dr. Ricci. In a situation where our baby could have died Dr. Ricci and her many helpers were incredibly focused and fast moving. I have never seem something done with such professionalism in such a crazy environment. The fact that she was able to react and rely on her experience to pull off this high level potentially deadly situation with only a minute of room time was incredible. My wife and I will forever be grateful that doctor Ricci was on duty that night! We have not visited her office and are not a patient of hers but we can speak to her incredible abilities and experience in intense situations. Thank you!

She is very condescending and rude. I am shocked that people are still going to her. She only cares about what she can bill for and to make money.

This was the worst doctor experience i have ever had! This woman does not care about her patients. She will not order the tests they need in a timely manner and would opt to make them wait a month to do them in office to get the billing instead of sending to Hoag with an order where they can get immediately. I had to get another Dr to order me the test which they deemd very important and ordered them stat. i got it the next day instead of a month later! Once the tests came back she refused to call me todiscuss the results! instead she would only see me in office 3 weeks later to even discuss and would not order the MRI the radiologist said I needed till after that appointment!!!!!! This was after the results said I need an MRI and I told her I was in terrible pain when i was in her office. I had to seek out other doctors who were incredible and got me the tests and medicine I needed right away. This woman does not care about her patients, their pain, or their health!

Dr Ricci is a very compassionate person. Dr Ricci looks you in the eye when she speaks to you, she explains everything she is going to do and what you can expect. Dr Ricci is very confident in her expectations. I just love her!! I don’t expect to make a new friend in my Dr, just someone who is in the room with me and is listening. I highly recommend my new Dr. I am from Massachusetts and 70 years old

I've been a patient for several years due to the limited availability of nearby doctors in my insurance network. The staff is friendly but seems to be overworked. Almost every time I call, I'm on hold for awhile. Sometimes it takes calling back many times to get an answer to a question. In one case, it took months. The wait times are often long, and the waiting room packed. Testing is not done on-site so you have to take lab orders elsewhere. Parking is paid and sometimes a pain to find. No text or email appointment reminders. Dr. Ricci while usually pleasant, is sometimes rushed and transactional. This isn't always consistent, but during most of my visits, she doesn't seem to listen carefully or take thorough notes. I've often had to repeat myself and leave feeling like a number. I know medical offices are super busy in this area, and I don't expect perfection but the lack of concern/attention combined with the inefficient processes have made my experience quite frustrating.

I would not recommend this office. They performed an unnecessary procedure. And would not take any responsibility when I was billed through my insurance. When I arrive for my yearly physical. The regular doctor that I normally went to you was not there. They gave me a new doctor did obviously did not know any of my previous history and performed unnecessary procedures which I had to pay for

Dr. Ricci is THE BEST doctor I've ever had. So lucky to have her.

Dr. Ricci is my favorite MD of all time! I saw her with each of my three pregnancies and then years later returned for a hysterectomy. She is nothing short of excellent and I highly recommend her.

I love the office staff and Dr. Ricci. I'm beyond happy with my decision to choose her as my OB/GYN. I can't understand why there would be any negative comments about this office or Dr. Ricci. I've had a great experience.

Dr Ricci is professional and kind. Her knowledge and experience helped me be at ease with my three pregnancies. She would always give me her recommendation and not once did I feel pressured or persuaded by her. She kept her calmness during my delivery, which was an intense moment and allowed me to stay focused and assured that everything was moving forward according to plan. On a separate delivery she stayed with me an additional 4 hours even though it was her day off. I would highly recommend.

She is the best! She listens to patients. I have never felt rushed. She is personable yet, very professional I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for the best care available
