New broom sweeps well.
My last encounter with her was late in 2017. Presented with cough for months. She allowed me to diagnose myself and ran with that rather than prove me wrong. After all I am not a doctor. She could not even touch my skin with the stethoscope to listen to my lungs. I challenged her on that. After changing dr and the practice changing I moved out of the area. Still I am coughing. New doc treats for sinus and orders imaging. Found new dr again. She listened to me, my story, my lungs, and sent me for pulmonary test. I failed. Next a CT scan. Whoa...I have COPD. Had dr Shearer done her job I would have been ahead of this by 5 years. Thanks Shearer for not doing your job .

Empathy
Dr. Shearer is so empathetic that I sense she can feel and understand my pains. I've been her patient since she began to practice, and since the beginning, she has been thoughtful, understanding, and helpful. I'm 80 years old, and I rate Dr. Shearer as the best and most well-versed doctor that I have met, including my grandfather.

Best doctor I have ever had. She's very personable, honest, and knowledgeable. She doesn't ever make me feel like she doesn't truly care. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Shearer! I am driving almost an hour, even after I moved, to see her because she is that awesome.

She seemed to be polite, but when she mentioned how certain individuals have superior genes especially in regards to diabetes I was taken aback. This is not a great way to build a good and lasting rapport with a new patient. Every demographic has their share of health problems, no one group is superior to another. She could use some classes in professionalism and proper bedside manner.
