Telehealth
Dr Cattaneo is very patient, explaining procedures, and any concerns I or my family may have. I have NEVER felt rushed during either an office visit or teleconference! Finally a surgeon who has no God complex! He and the ladies in the office are professional, but aren’t afraid to laugh with me! I feel like I matter and not as if I’m just being herded in like a sheep!

My experience with Dr. Cattaneo could not be worst. He put a port in my chest on February 26, 2021, for a chemotherapy treatment. When I woke up from the sedation, I had a lot of pain, difficulty to breath, difficulty to walk and vomiting. He took an X ray, and he found some opacity in my right hemithorax and he said: everything is fine, it is a MUSCLE PROBLEM. He didn’t do any additional test and he discharged me from the hospital. I arrived at home with an unbearable pain. I when to the emergency room at the Suburban Hospital in Bethesda and I was immediately admitted to the hospital. The diagnosis was pneumothorax and hemothorax and not a muscle problem! I was in the hospital 6 days draining 700 ml of blood my pleural cavity. They saved my life. I had to postpone the initiation of the chemotherapy treatment for one month. I still have pain in my thorax when I when i sneeze, cough or yawn. My pulmonologist told me that I will have this pain for the rest of my life.

Dr.Cattaneo and his office staff are simply amazing. They took such a great care of my father. He had lung lobectomy back in December. Dr. Cattaneo listened and helps us understand and get thought all difficult decisions. I am forever grateful for his care, compassion and skill. I trust him with my father’s care! Thank you for all you do!

Dr. Cattaneo did my mediport placement and removal. I was impressed with his bedside manner right from the start. He explained both procedures very thoroughly. Everything went according to plan. I would absolutely recommend him.
