Dr. Stephen Coats, DO

Dr.Coats is an amazing doctor! I had a surgery with him and it was great. I was in so much pain, but after he did the surgery I was relieved with no pain. Every time I have a problem he always does the best job. He is very, extremely professional. I am so thankful for having him as my doctor. He is the best OB doctor I every had and he is super kind.

Dr. Coats is the best! I saw numerous OBs during my pregnancy but I felt most comfortable with Dr. Coats. I had a high risk pregnancy and transfered from midwives to OB at 30 weeks and was very nervous! Dr. Coats reassured me that I was in good hands just needed some extra monitoring through the remainder of my pregnancy. He didn't actually deliver my baby but was there to discharge me and had me stay an extra night to monitor my blood pressure which was a concern he had already been monitoring during my pregnancy so that was nice! I hope to be treated by him my next pregnancy. Thank you for everything Dr. Coats!

Dr. Coats was an amazing OB I had him when I was pregnant with my son he did my c-section I was a nervous wreck but he made sure I stayed comfortable and stayed calm after delivery he always came to check on me to see how me and my brand new baby was. He really cares about his patients and I really hope he is still in this career when I’m pregnant again to perform my c-section again. 10/10 recommended him!

Horrible doesn't know anything. Very unprofessional and plain rude. Don't recommend, worse medical professional I've ever encountered. Beware.

Dr. Coates did my CSection at camp Lester, Okinawa Japan in 2012, after the terrifying birth Of my first son. He came in the operating room ready to meet my baby, calm, pleasant and explained To me everything that was going to happen, or what he was doing. he was the last face I saw before the procedure started and I have never forgotten his impeccable bedside manner, medical knowledge, compassion and his ability to put my nervous mommy heart at ease. My son was born 8 years ago and I Have been trying to find Dr.Coates over the years to thank him for the impression he made, how well he treated me and my baby, how amazing my incision site looks and for being the greatest dr I’ve had the please to get to know! Thank you Dr. Coates for your care and for making a lasting impression.

My second visit with Dr. Coats today, this one due to a recently placed IUD that had become dislocated. Like during the initial visit, he was very personable, listened and made recommendations based on my preferences. He does walk you through all steps necessary and shows sincere concern for the patient. I find him and his staff (I did see him at the Port Orchard location, which is not his usual practice location in Tacoma) very kind and easy to deal with and would recommend him highly.

I saw Dr Coats today. I came in super nervous & concerned due to why I came in to begin with... He took the time to speak with me and I knew I was his #1 priority in that moment. I felt very safe and very cared for... it was not just a quick in and out apt, this doctor really does care and makes sure you are getting what you need, on top of that he takes the time to listen. thank you so much for your care Dr Coats. I felt very safe & comfortable
