Excellent doctor
I saw him for a consult on post op pain following ankle surgery by another doctor. He thoroughly explained the procedure and possible reasons for the pain. I waited for an hour beyond my appointment time but it was well worth it. Office staff all very pleasant and helpful.

Had a posterior tibial tendon tear. Dr. Conti removed the tendon and replaced it with another from my foot, repositioned my heel and inserted a large screw through the heel to hold it. All went very well. He said it would be a year to feel normal and he was spot on. Foot feels perfect now. Staff was great as well! Office visits were awesome through the height of COVID lockdowns. Highly recommend!

I had great toe surgery in May 2010 and saw Dr Conti only twice… at the initial appointment and at a post-surgical appointment. Any other time that I needed assistance or had concerns, I was directed to talk to Chad, his PA. Chad was kind and helpful; Dr Conti could take a lesson from him. The results of the surgery only last for a while; I am seeking treatment for the same issue again. One of the things that was most troubling about my post surgical care was the OxyContin and oxycodone prescriptions. I was prescribed 60 of each pill and told to take them on a regular schedule even if I didn’t feel pain; this was supposedly to prevent “breakthrough” pain. Because I trusted my doctor, I did what was instructed… For a while. However, it became increasingly clear that following such instructions is unwise. I became quite sluggish and sad and later realized it was due to the medication. Do your homework before surgery regarding the doctor, the surgical procedure, and the meds

Dr. Stephen F. Conti, MD It is with much disappointment that I am writing this review for others to read. Hopefully it will help someone to make a better choice for bunion surgery, as there are many other doctor's out there. I felt I did my research prior to picking Dr. Conti for my surgery, however, i ended up with a complete re-do within 6 months of my surgery by Dr. Conti...completed by another doctor. I ended up with a stress fracture (he said it is rare but happens) where he drilled through a bone during the procedure, and then ultimately the whole procedure failing, as a ligament that he remembers tightening during the surgery, came loose. I also was left with a new problem that never existed prior to surgery. He failed 100%, offering to squeeze me into his surgery schedule the following week to start "fusing bones". I declined his offer. I was told repeatedly after this failure, by Dr. Conti and staff

I was sent to Dr. Conti. I was told he was the best specialist for the type of feet injury I have. When Dr Conti entered the room, I was not treated like a patient, more like I was the enemy " that I was wasting his time"! I told him I could not hardly walk, trouble getting out of bed on my feet. He directly said to my face, " No you don't". Finally test showed my injuries bad and I had surgery. Surgery that was documented in my chart, that was not done! After my surgery, my toes now are killing me, he said takes up to a year! (I even shook his hand) Well, I wasted no time in getting another orthopaedic and had surgery again on same foot, that was not done as documented. All I wanted was medical help! Instead I got an uncaring, deceitful, lying physician. I still have nightmares over him!! I'd never recommend him to anyone!! No star rating in my book!

Abysmal experience. Dr. Conti was fine pre-surgery. Never saw him at all after the surgery until I insisted on it 2 months later, after 2 hospital stays for infection of the wound! He never even stopped by after the surgery to check on me. I'm a healthy active individual, but infection from that surgery has cost me thousands of dollars and 3 hospitalizations, with never a follow-up call from Conti.

I to have had issues with this Dr. I had an ankle replacement done. Follow up appointments were never with him just the PA. My foot turned completely black on top. I repeatedly asked the PA if this is normal I was told to use sterile water and keep it elevated. My family urged me to go to a wound clinic and after two months the PA agreed. I went and their eyes told the whole story. It was one of the extreme cases that they have seen. I really thought I may lose my whole leg. The whole top of my foot had dead necrotic tissue that extended deep into my wound. If the Dr would have been alerted to my issues early on would I be facing more surgeries. So if your looking for the PA and not a Doctor to continually follow up with and wish to have no care after the fact you found him!

I fractured my right calcaneus (heel) and spoke to a few foot/ankle surgeons. Dr. Conti was highly recommended and did not disappoint. He made me feel at ease with the surgery while also managing my expectations by reminding me at each visit that recovery from this surgery is very slow. I am nearing 9 months post surgery and am doing great. I did a lot of research on this type of injury while laid up in bed and I know most people don't have this successful recovery. I have Dr. Conti and his expertise to thank for that.

Dr. Conti clearly explained my injury and why surgery was the best option for me to retain as much mobility as possible. He took the time to make sure I understood what would need to happen after surgery and the length of rehab/recovery time given my underlying conditions. He is no nonsense, doesn't sugar coat anything, and has a sense of humor - all qualities that I want in a surgeon.

Dr. Conti is the foot and ankle guru! He did surgery on my foot a few years ago and treated my other foot for a fracture that my previous doctor said was healed. He did surgery on my husband a week and a half ago. Dr. Conti is the best of the best. I am sad as I now need more foot surgeries and I have highmark insurance and he is UPMC, so I have to go elsewhere but not by choice.

I have had a few appointments with Dr. Conti for a reoccurring foot problem and I am not impressed. He has never spent more then 5 min in the room with me. Last time he diagnosed me in under 2 min. Ordered PT, that's it. Visible swelling and a problem for over a year. How about an MRI? He never touched me or my ankle or even recommended a follow-up. He is always rushed and makes you feel as if you're bothering him. I have seen other doctors in this practice over many years, and had no issues.

He flat out lied to me, gave me false hope, that he was going to actually help me. At my appointment, he said I still have damage, to my foot, from which he saw, on the bone scan, which was swollen and discolored, that he personally saw. Then sent a report saying, nothing was wrong with me. I thought doctors took a medical oath, to help patients. This is the second time, he has been just plain wrong and its sickening, that him and doctors like him, just want to get paid and not truly help anyone.

Very dangerous negligent doctor. He flat out refused to look at x-rays but declared my father's ankle fine. The ankle was so swollen Dr. Conti couldn't even do a proper exam! I took him to a competent doctor and discovered his previous ankle replacement is completely worn out and needs replaced. Avoid this man!

Would not recommend to anyone. Worst follow up after surgery and they have no care if you are still experincing pain at all. They scheduled an emergency appointment for me and made me wait over 1.5 hours after in the waiting room to even be taken back. Haven't got to see dr conti since he did my surgery over 6 months ago. Stay away

I had ankle surgery back in early February 2017. Dr. Conti explained to me what I needed done and scheduled surgery with him. I had surgery done but never seen Dr. Conti since. Never seen him at opeating room or after surgery. Never seen him at follow up . Tried to call him but that's impossible. I am having a lot of swelling and discomfort. PAIN. Either he is too busy to take care of his patients or just does not care. . I really do not know who actually did this surgery. Find another Dr.

Amazing foot and ankle specialist. Took care of my daughter's problems promptly. Very down to earth and explained everything to us in depth. Even though I am sure he has seen worse fractures, he reassured our worries and top notch surgery. We have not had long waits, but I see complaints of that. Doctors don't want to run late--- so just realize they are helping someone!! Having a top notch surgeon is worth any wait!

Dr Conti is a dangerous person. He diagnosed me in 5 minutes with a bone fracture in my foot that was not existed. I had pain in my foot for 6 months and came to Dr Conti for an advise. He caused me an enormous physical and emotional pain during the visit. . And he was very aggressive at explaining that I will never walk again and will use my knee walker forever. All he wanted to remove my healthy sesamoid bone to cash my insurance. I am walking now just fine and his diagnosis was wrong!
