Unprofessional
Dr.Lacour ordered self-catherization for my elderly father without any consultation with him or his family.The procedure is painful and in this case totally unnecessary. It was very traumatizing for my father. Dr Lacour refused to return our phone calls and none of his staff could provide any answers. We have contacted the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners

One flew over the patient's nest.
Appointment booking staff person was excellent; warm, friendly and inviting. Upon my visit, Dr. Lacour's female greeting assistant was rude and unwelcoming; while another female exiting assistant was friendly & courteous. My requested pre-screen updated information was submitted a week in advance, yet the assistant did not have my information available for herself or for Dr. Lacour's pre-visit review. . Dr. Lacour asked some basic questions that should have been viewed in advance of my meeting, or previewed in my system file.

Staff unacceptable
Dr Lacour is an excellent physician and I am satisfied with his care. His staff, however, is incompetent and rude, so much so that I'm going to have to change doctors. A year ago, they made a simple coding error on a lab test. For a year, I have struggled with them to correct their error, to no avail. I'm now receiving collection letters from the lab, and the staff refuses to communicate about the status of the issue. Save yourself the headache.

Have been a patient of Dr. Stephen LaCour for several years now. I find him to be patient focused, prompt, personable and thorough. He explains treatments and issues and addresses my questions directly. I always feel confident in referring friends to him, and they have always reported similar positive experiences. His nurse, Kelly, has always been helpful in assisting with scheduling tests, labs, etc. His office is conveniently located and offers on site free parking. Secure access to a professionally appointed medical office facility.
