My saving grace. Thank you. A very intelligent, he was very organized to every detail. Arrive, 2 days of screening and planning and next morning off to surgery. Did not waste 1 minute, what he said was exactly as we planned. Spot on. BOTH times! Kutos to Dr. Pirris!!! Thank you again!

Appointment was rushed. Rough and hurried exam as well. He was not empathetic. Seems to know what he's talking about but disputed MY symptoms. Not sure on what basis he knows what my body feels, but ok.

Amazing! Brilliant, compassionate, thorough, explained the situation and possible problems & outcomes clearly & honestly. Told us after the surgery that he was pleased that he had been able to do all he had hoped to do ... It's always a good sign when the surgeon is happy !!

Website and LinkedIn both say Dr Pirris is at Mayo and accepting patients. However, Mayo says he is not there and call back in January. I have been getting the runaround since August. If I didn’t have such a long history with Dr. Pirris I would look elsewhere to be seen.

He was supposed to be ay Mayo in the “fall”. Fall is past and we cannot locate him, Mayo has no info. He is a great dr but it seems like he disappeared. Our GP suggested we check his state license and it has Mayo listed as his affiliated clinic so hopefully he shows up there.

Can someone help find where he is located now?

When I 1st met Dr Pirris I was in a wheelchair unable to walk; the day before a schwannoma tumor showed in the mri and it was bending my spinal cord. I had emergency surgery the next day on a Saturday morning...I've had 2 more spinal surgeries (other areas in my back) since then and Dr Pirris is great; he has personally called to answer any question or concerns that I had. He is awesome. A very caring Neurosurgeon.

Dr Pirris is an excellent surgeon, explains everything, and is very encouraging both pre and post op. Very knowledgeable. His staff is also excellent. He will soon be at Mayo.

Dr. Pirris has done several surgeries on my neck and back with EXCELLENT results! I am so confident in his abilities, he performed surgery on my daughter with EXCELLENT results as well. What a wonderful team he had at St. Vincent’s Spine and Brain. He will be sorely missed at St. Vincent’s. Now to figure out how to transfer my neurosurgery care to Mayo.

My first choice among all JAX-area neurosurgery practitioners. Dr Pirris has fused both my cervical & lumbar spines. Excellent results. EXCELLENT patient relations both medically & administratively. The proof of my confidence is that I hope he will accept my wife as a new patient.

Dr Pirris is a Excellent doctor with Great Concerns for his patients.I will continue to see him as needed.

The difference with other Neurosurgeons is great listening ?? communication skills. Patience and truly reading doctor notes irregardless of why I was hospitalized gives him his perspective on what tests and diagnostics needed for followup visits and or, referrals needed for future visits.

From the lady at the front desk where I checked in to the gentleman who took my blood pressure my experience was effortless. And after meeting the doctor, I never met a Doctor Who was so knowledgeable with so little knowledge of my past medical history that knew so much about my condition. My confidence level was over the top after speaking with him. And then of course there is Bria who is the doctors assistant who couldn’t be nicer and more accommodating and definitely very patient with all my questions and my emails Back-and-forth to her. It was a wonderful experience and I feel very confident about the prognosis in the upcoming possible surgery. I want to thank the doctor especially and everyone in the entire office who made me feel so welcomed and comfortable

Dr ????? Pirris is an amazing surgeon! He performed two surgeries on me within three months (cervical and spine). After reading reviews and research on neurosurgeons, I know I made the right decision and selected the BEST. He built my trust with him through taking time to detail out the procedure and how he understood my many reluctances. After the surgeries I have never experienced the attention that I received from DR PIRRIS, with his Prompt morning visits, and sometimes twice a day, while I was recovering in the hospital. These are minor reviews compared to his excellence in what he does. Thank you Dr Pirris, and Dr DO for your recommendation as well to send me to his practice. I’m grateful!

This review is long overdue but my only excuse is that I couldn't find the right words to express my gratitude and respect for Dr Pirris and his staff. I had consulted with 3 surgeons before finding Dr. Pirris. Dr. Pirris took a totally different approach to the back surgery I desperately needed but was terrified to have. He and his NP, Sherri Kimes, took the time to explain (more than once) the procedure that would be performed and what I could expect every step of the way. Dr. Pirris is a compassionate, incredibly skilled and state-of-the-art surgeon and you will find none better. Even the nurses in the hospital surgery suite as well as the anesthesiologist sang his praises. I am now 6 months post surgery and I think of him every time I enjoy a walk on the beach, drive my car or swing a golf club. I'd like to give 10 stars to someone who gave me my life back. He is simply the best.

I have no words to say about the incredible Dr. Pirris. He is the best doctor I have ever met, he’s incredible at his job and he knows what he’s doing. Dr. Pirris is not just an incredible doctor, he’s an incredible human being. I recommend Dr. Pirris to my family, friends and anyone who’s in pain and searching for an amazing neurosurgeon as he is.
