Had a painful bad hiatal hernia. Had zero energy. Suffered for three years with this. Referral by my PCP to Dr. Choe. Dr. Choe ordered pre-surgery tests and told me what was involved. He tells you exactly what to expect. January 7, 2025 had hiatal surgery. First few days post surgery rough on pain meds resting on liquid diet. One week post surgery i am starting to feel normal again. Day 10 walking treadmill at the gym 3 miles. This is day 17 post surgery and headed to the gym with goal of 10 mile walk on the treadmill. Day 14 I did 7 miles. I feel human again. I am a retired nurse. Dr. Choe is a straight talker. He tells you what to expect. If you don't understand anything ask him. He is dedicated to his patients. I have a belly button hernia that requires surgery due to my intestinal issues. Waiting a year as Dr. Choe recommends then I will be seeing him again for this repair. If you are suffering with hernias make your appointment don't wait three years like I did. I feel happy to get up in the morning without the hiatal hernia.

His nurse is PHENOMENAL
My husband was a patient of Dr Choe in the hospital and he was honest and explained things clearly. During the surgical follow up, His nurse Esmeralda honestly made this experience so much easier and i wish everyone who had to go through a scary cancer diagnosis would have medical support like Esmeralda showed us. There aren’t words to express the gratitude i feel for her and Dr Choe. My husband is just at the beginning of his medical journey but starting off in this office made us feel extremely lucky and grateful. She made us feel like someone hears us and sees us and is fighting on our side. Esmeralda is an angel sent to people having a hard time. THANK YOU

Emergency Appendectomy
Dr. Choe was on-call and available for my emergency surgery. He was very respectful and very professional in explaining my procedure. It made me very confident for a good outcome. After surgery, he came to check on me and updated me on how my surgery went. This doctor goes above and beyond, and does it well. I'm 3 days post op and I'm healing well enough to not need medication. Dr. Choe is a life saver!

Success
Emergency appendectomy. He was on call that day at Eisenhower. Successful emergency surgery and very caring follow up. He made sure I was in good health, before releasing me from the hospital. I was grateful to have the extra days in the hospital to recover.

Exceptional care
I went to a consult with a friend that was to see Dr. Choe for a double mastectomy following a breast cancer diagnosis. He was incredibly kind and thorough in delivering the next steps. His bedside manner is unmatched compared to others I’ve seen in his profession. Would recommend.

Had a very bad experience with this doctor. Almost lost my life . Complicated surgery left me bleeding internally but was released from surgery as he had billed it as an outpatient surgery . I have now been left with 1000s of $ of medical bills and copayments on lifesaving procedures that we no ones fault but his . Dr are well protected and denies any responsibility. Don’t recommend this dr.

Gallbladder Removal. Best part meet with Doc 3 times: Pre-Op, Surgery & Post-Op! Dr. Choe was determined to get the large stone out for successful laparoscopic surgery. I've used another surgeon in this grp Dr. Jenkins she is excellent as well. Her specialty is Colon & Rectal Surgery. Take a look at her reviews. These two are part of a larger group with different specialties in the desert! If I am in need of another surgery I will be asking these two for a referral as they seem to be the Best!
