Dr. Steve Updike, DO

Dr. Updike quickly and thoroughly assessed my illness, and offered complete explanation of the potential causes, expected progression of illness and recovery, and explained my treatment options. He listened to my questions and concerns, and those of my partner, and professionally addressed each one. While my illness is not severe, I was treated with no less urgency or thoroughness than a patient suffering something more detrimental. Most unexpectedly, Dr. Updike contacted me a few days after beginning medication to inquire about my status. His compassion and thoughtfulness absolutely shine through, and I'm on the mend.

Had to go in for an emergency visit. Doctor Updike was very knowledgeable and explained my injury and treatment in a way that was understandable to me. As someone who asks ALOT of questions, I am very thankful that the doctor was patient to answer any and all questions that. I’m sure the doctors in this department work in a sense of urgency but I did not feel ignored or rushed like visits in the past. Considering that military insurance or ER visits don’t allow you to choose your doctor, I was very pleased with the visit and would choose this doctor again if there ever was an option to.

Lacks basic knowledge and seems to push serious matters to the side. Had to go to another doctor just to get better care because this doctor delays care and sends you on your way without further assessment or testing.
