Dr. Steve Yu is now accepting patients in Newport Beach office. He performed a Myomectomy and Acessa procedure on me in the spring of 2023. Everything turned out great after the procedure my down time was about 5 days after surgery. Scars are minimal less than inch. My regular gynecologist suggested that receive a hysterectomy… I was scared to have such a surgery that was invasive; and the down time would have been weeks or months. Thanks to Dr. Yu, I have my uterus and ovaries still and I have so much more energy. I can’t say enough on what he has done to change my life, but I am truly grateful.

I just saw Dr. Yu today and I am very impressed! I just had a routine exam & u/s but I had lots of questions about my symptoms and age related changes. Dr. Yu sat with me before the exam and after and explained my options to me. He was extremely patient with all of my questions and concerns. He treated me like a person and not just a patient. He was probably the kindest Dr. I have encountered and I will be sure to go to him next time for my gynecological exam. He is super knowledgeable and a top notch professional! The whole office staff was amazing and kind but I was so impressed with Dr. Yu and his ability to see and hear me and provide me amazing care! Thank you Dr. Yu!!

Dr. Yu is an excellent surgeon and a very compassionate person. He did an excellent job with the removal of my 7 large fibroids, and my pain was manageable 3 days after surgery. I would highly recommend his services.

Dr Yu performed a complicated laparoscopic myomectomy on me with a fibroid that was 13cm or larger. Everyone else I went to wanted to perform an open myomectomy. I have since seen numerous gynecologists and OBGYN’s and they have stated that my uterus looks good. In fact, I had an ultrasound today and the OBGYN said that Dr Yu did a fantastic job and is a highly skilled surgeon.

Wonderful doctor/surgeon! 8 years i had been suffering from fibroids and mennorhagia to a point where the 5-10 days in a month was incapacitating me. I went to 3 different gunecologists and they all said my only option was to get a c-section on abdominal surgery to get a hysterectomy. I finally looked up UCLA to see they have a dedicated fibroid treatment group and called them. I told the lady that I wanted someone who specialized in minimal invasive surgery and she said Dr. Yu is the best, i saw him in Feb and he immediately did an ultrasound followed by MRI and said my hysterectomy can easily be done with a laparoscopic method. I set up an appointment and was prepared to be in pain for atleast two weeks. But the best part is the surgery was so minimally invasive i had 4 less than quarter inch incisions on me, i was able to go home in 24 hrs walked up the stairs the next day morning and felt a 100% normal in less than a week. Minimal pain (unbelievable) and back to feeling great!

I recently had a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for a fibroid removal by Dr. Stephen Yu. I recommend Dr. Yu without any hesitation. I was concerned because of the large fibroid size and the post-op recovery. Discomfort and pain after the surgery was manageable. 3 days after the surgery I didn't need pain medication at all. I feel a lot better 2 weeks after the surgery. I have 4 small scars which are healing well. I would say to women with a similar condition to not be afraid of this type of surgery. Dr. Yu is an excellent physician, on top of his field, professional and caring. I could not have asked for a better doctor.

I have uterine fibroids, and was told by my obgyn that I would have to have a hysterectomy, and if he was to surgically remove my fibroid there is a big chance that I would die due to uterine rupture. I started looking for a second opinion and came across Dr. William Parker (the GOAT of myomectomy's) who referred me to Dr. Yu. Dr. Yu performed my abdominal myomectomy June 2016, he removed over 20 fibroids with the largest measuring 11cm, 20wk preg uterus. In Sept, 2018 I had my son. I'm forever grateful... Thank you Dr. Yu for giving me my miracle. Great bedside manner, patient with me, answered all my questions without hesitation. It doesn't matter where you are from. I had to fly from Florida to California for my consult, and then again for my surgery. 5 day hospital stay. Would do it all over again if I had to.

Thank you to Dr. Yu and the medical professionals who helped with my minimally invasive operation to remove my fibroids. His patience and help with all my questions made everything go smoothly. I suffered for many years with regular discomfort and pain, and occasional sever problems. I’m so glad that I had this option as opposed to a big incision and hysterectomy as recommended by another doctor. I feel like a new person in just a few weeks.

I love Dr. Yu! He's professional, a good listener, experienced and well-trained on the latest medical techniques. I saw him for a second opinion, and it was the best decision I ever made. The first doctor I saw recommended a hysterectomy. Dr. Yu explained that a hysterectomy was not necessary, and he successfully removed 14 large fibroids with laparoscopic surgery. My uterus is intact, and I only have two tiny scars instead of a huge c-section scar! I fully trust and highly recommend him!

Dr. Yu is the Best! He was very patient and thorough in explaining the procedure so I went into it with confidence and optimism. It has been approximately 6 weeks since my laparoscopic Myomectomy and I feel great. In fact, I began feeling great the next day when I came home from the surgery center. Needless to say, I felt some pain and discomfort but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that I did not need to take any painkillers after day 2. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Yu.

I like to share my experience from a very difficult laparoscopic myomectomy due to size & location of 8 fibroids ranging fr 4-12 cm. I like to encourage women to not be scared of surgery, I ignored warning sign 10 yrs, till last October, till I couldn't walk fr pain. So I went to the best, UCLA & Its Drs.I met few. Dr. Yu is amazing and I am still in awe with how he was able to help me and my situation. He removed 77 fibroid tumors from my uterus via the abdominal myomectomy procedure with minimal blood loss and leaving my uterus in tact! I highly recommend him to everyone that I encounter with these fibroid issues. He is the best!

I am thrilled that after all the years of the problems the fibroids gave me, everything is (finally!) & has been normal for the past year! The surgery last year was a great success, by every count. Dr. Yu and the office staff have been fantastic, I really appreciate all they've done for me, I continue to recommend Dr. Yu and Dr. Parker's office to every woman I know because previous dr's only wanted to do a full hysterectomy and put me on drugs for the rest of my life.
