Avoid like a disease
What is this 'doctor' a parrot? Whatever I said in his office he repeated after me what I said! then did nothing as far as treating me, he made my hands worse. Avoid all that phony place for hands on Virginia, just too much into how much to get and no benefits for the patients.

The Dr might be good, if you ever get to see him!
waited in office 90 minutes to be seen... nobody ever popped in or informed us of delays etc. PA ignored us as we simply walked out of the patient room and got refund on our copay. If you have to see this office, make sure to have a good 4 hours to waste!

Good doctor with no communication
I am really not sure what to say. I was brought into the ER for a compound fracture on both bones in the wrist on Thursday and operated on Friday late afternoon. I was #5 operation for the day for Dr Bastian.Prior to surgery, I was shown my x-ray and he told me what he would do. very nice during conversation. Operation went great. Now for why 3 star. Dr Bastian didn't come out and meet my wife and let her know anything after the operation. Dr Bastian never came over to see me, probably because the next day was a Saturday.Dr Bastian only prescribed a 5 mg pain killer. It was so low, I was still in pain. The office didn't even reach out to me to schedule me the follow up appointment. I called and it appeared I even didn't show up in their records. The office registered me and got an appointment 2 weeks later.3 days before my appointment I get a message about my x-rays and if I got them yet. They never mentioned it. A couple hours later I got a text telling

Never happened.
We scheduled my father's surgery three times and he cancelled all three. The last time Dad was in prep and Dr. Bastian just left.

My wife broke her wrist and went to emergency room at John C. Lincoln. Dr. Bastian treated her. He cleaned her wound but decided to wait to repair the wrist until he could have a specific orthopedic device fedexed to him as he believed it would yield a better result. My wife had a complete recovery. This happened more than a decade ago and her fractured wrist is as good as or better than her unfractured one. We are thankful for the surgical skills of Dr. Bastian.

Cancelled surgery literally while driving there.
To begin insanity of today I took 2 weeks to get surgery scheduled. Scheduler using her private phone with Caller ID blacked so her calls to treated as spam calls. Why doesn’t office use a common phone number. After driving 52 miles round trip I literally walked in to register only to have nurse say my procedure was cancelled. Lost all faith in this office. Office never returns phone calls. Always goes to voicemail.

Lack of fallow through, after the surgery left for the wolves, no medication for pain due to him not being able to be reached or answering his messages in office (clarified by receptionist) seems to be about the money and not the patient. Unethical, unprofessional.

I had a minor hand surgery through Dr. Bastian's office. After the surgery, I ended up with complications that I wasn't expecting nor was I prepared for. No one at the office answered the phone any time I called and the issue was bad enough that after several conversations with my primary care doctor (and still no response from Dr. Bastian's office) I was referred to a different hand surgeon in Phoenix to give me a second opinion. I also ended up with several surprising bills including a $900 bill for a plastic splint and a $75 bill for 'materials' during a follow up appointment when literally no materials were used. I would recommend that anyone with the ability to do so avoids the AZ Center for Hand to Shoulder Surgery.

Dr. Bastian is an incredible physician. Friendly, patient, kind, compassionate and honest. After consulting with a MAYO orthopedic hand surgeon, I was convinced I needed surgery. I am so happy I went for a second opinion with Dr. Bastian, who recommended NO surgery. Dr. Bastian is a brilliant doctor. Highly recommended

Dr Bastian and his assistant Jennifer are talented surgeons and really care. They took time to explain everything about my condition and the post surgical rehab. I would send my family and friends here.

I was admitted through the emergency room for surgery. No insurance at the time. Dr came and said let’s wait. I’m in private practice and can afford to help you. Sure. By charging me office fees telling me I needed and Emg out of pocket and the officer stafff where horribly rude. I now have insurance and am scheduled. Dr stating so severe I’m literally considered disabled. Shame on Dr Basstian for canceling my surgery and then not helping me. In humane. They had no record of surgery being sched

I had two surgeries on my hand which yielded terrible results. I had to see a new surgeon who told me that another surgery now is a serious matter because of what's already been done. The waiting times are bad in reference to when the doctor actually comes in to see you. One day I waited for 2 and 1/2 hours!!! I was told that my current condition was due to certain other causes which I absolutely refuse to believe. As far as I'm concerned, this surgeon is incompetent. Get a good M.D. instead
