Dr. Steven Campau, MD

I was in the ER and on a Sunday. I went to see Dr. Campau in a Friday after to follow up because I was still in a lot of pain. When he saw me at 315 he immediately recommended that I see a specialist. He even got me into the specialist after their closing hours. When I called him and told him I was still in some pain, he gave me a cream to help ease the pain that the specialist didn't even think of to give me. Long story short... I have never met a doctor like him. He truly listens and cares about what's wrong. He's honest and open. My husband and I love going to him and will continue to follow him if he moves. In my opinion, he really is the best doctor I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

He filled in for my regular physician when my symptoms flared. He took time to review my records before making any type of summary evaluation. He prescribed me a drug no other physicians had bothered to try and gave me a history of the problems with my type of ailment. He appreciated my frustration and made sure I followed up with my regular g.p. I left his exam feeling better just from his affirmations. The medication has given me a lot of relief.

I have seen Dr. Campau several times and at my ripe old age would be hard pressed to find another doctor as honest, talented, smart and trustworthy as Dr. Campau. I plan on seeing him again today and I'm also recommending my wife change her primary care physician to Dr. Campau. HIGHLY recommended.

I miss Dr Campau! He is the best doctor I have ever had! He moved from my area to where he is now, you all are blessed to have him! He listens and works with you to get you feeling better. I had endocrinologists that couldn't adjust my Synthroid meds, but he worked with me and got me squared away. I am thankful for having crossed paths with him. He does spend time to listen and explain things as well. Not an everyday find!! He rocks!!

Dr. Campau misdiagnosed my back pain probably because he didn't physically examine me during the appointment. When the meds he prescribed didn't work, he wouldn't return my call on a weekend and redirected me to immediate care. Commented that I was "not too porky" and finally ordered urine culture to check for blood even though I told nurse I was menstruating. Would not recommend.

Very forthright and real, it's why I like Dr. Campau. He doesn't sugarcoat anything its calls it like it is and is a straight shooter.

Dr. Campau has been my family doctor ever since I moved to Illinois 10 years ago. He is extremely professional, thorough, and friendly if you give him a chance to get to know you. I never feel like he's rushing me out the door and he's always willing to answer questions if you ask him. More importantly, his diagnosis is always spot on and over the years he's helped me maintain my health and take preventative measures when needed. The quality of his referrals are top notch also.

Does not listen well, his arrogance is almost as overwhelming as his ego and his nurse thinks she's a physician, is unkempt and rude. The receptionist staff are very friendly courteous and kind.

Nurses are friendly but within the office, to the dr you are just another chart.
