I lost my dad 4 months ago under the care of Dr. Deas. I was absolutely disgusted with the sanitary state of the room, to the point that I took photos of the filth. He was filthy with black dried blood on his nose, lips, and arms. He smelled horrible. When at the previous hospital, they flipped him for his lungs to strengthen and it was proven to work. He was on the road to recovery only using the vent 30% and days away from being ready to remove the ventilator. We come to Little Rock VA and within 24 hours of our visit everything took a drastic turn and my dad was “never waking up from this”. Also, everything is disgusting and he is covered in bed sores (yes he’s over weight but he had been hospitalized for a month at this point with MAYBE 1 small one.) The doctors were a joke. Absolutely no hope or drive to work at saving lives. Ready to remove the ventilator and call it done. Total opposite experience. I absolutely understand doctors can only do so much, and I agree. This was negligence and pathetic medical work. I would like to add that the male nurse on the night shift with my dad was incredible. He made me feel so comfortable and acknowledged how all of this was. Reassured I was making the right choices but only if they were what we wanted. Never made us feel rushed. Shame on you Dr Deas for allowing this to go on in the room of your patients. With the authority that comes with ‘DR, you could’ve had that mess cleaned up and my fathers room CLEAN. If this is your dr, I highly recommend switching if you’re looking for compassion or quality care. 0/10 Take some bedside classes. ?? Because he rushed the entire family into a decision they weren’t ready for, my father died on Christmas Eve of 2022. The nurse urged us- take your time. He’s in no pain. He’s not aware. Don’t rush something you’re not ready for. Because the doctor rushed my step mom and my entire family, she acted fast on pulling his ventilator before any of his kids could be there. The nurses name was Amanda. She was great as well. Let me talk to him we he took his final breaths. Shame on you. You can never make this right, but I’m going to pray for you. I pray for your patience with the family or people you provide care to. I pray that you have steady and calm hands in every decision you make for your patients to be in the best interest of your patience. I pray for your attention to detail and when a room is filthy you speak up on it. I hope you fight for better sanitization procedures. I pray you save more than you lose and you use your degree for good instead of greed. Amen. Best of luck Dr Dees. This review will never be hidden. I will make sure it’s posted and am happy to take it to social media with my photo proof if this review is removed. Allow families to make their OWN decisions about who you are and your abilities to care for ICU patients.
