Never go to him!
He misdiagnosed me causing me to endure unnecessary shots in my eye. Every visit he changed his diagnosis from this is not a big issue can be treated with antibiotics maybe 1 shot to the 6th visit I would need 8-10 shots over 2 years and its macular degeneration!!! went to 2nd opinion at Emory and Dr took one look at my scan and diagnosed me immediately textbook case of me having a side effect to steroids not macular degeneration!!! AND no shots would work for my issue!!!! Leff sees over 100 patients a day he does NOT want to answer questions he will redirect you with a stupid joke or try to get you to laugh he spends 3 minutes with you and he is out the door…

He performed surgery on my husband to correct a macular pucker. Most surgeons will not perform this type of surgery until vision has been severely diminished and this was not the case. After the surgery was performed and we called the office the following day with concerns that my husband could not see at all out of his eye and we were told that the problem probably was just blood pooling. The next day his retina was completely detached. He lost his vision and our retina specialist implied that surgery should not have been performed in the first place.

30 year patient review!
I've been with Dr. Leff for a long time now. He's extremely warm, kind, and is very generous with his time. Most importantly, he's taken very good care of my eyes over the years (I have one eye that's lazy). Give his office a call if you're looking for someone to help out with your vision.

My Mom was a patient of Dr. Leff many years ago and I knew him from taking her to her appointments when I went for my first appointment. I have been going for several years and getting injections in both eyes. He is a wonderful doctor, very knowledgeable and caring. He also puts his patients at ease with his sense of humor and his cncern for the patient. I would recommend Dr. Leff to everyone. He is the best!

I have had an excellent experience with Dr Leff! His warm and caring attitude, along with his great sense of humor, put me at ease. It is obvious he is well versed in his field. He was recommended to me by my optometrist when I had a rip in my eye 11 years ago and I came back to him when I had other issues during the last few years. I always get outstanding care from him. I highly recommend him.

In and out easily (try to get 1st thing in the morning or right after lunch). The staff is very efficient. Dr Leff was recommended to me by an optometrist. Since seeing Dr Leff I know of 2 people with retina issues and they too saw him. I feel confident in his knowledge and what he tells me.

Would not let me relate symptoms or tell him what another doctor in his own practice had said, would not allow questions. "Patients should be seen but not heard" attitude. Gave long child-level talk on how bodies develop aging wear n tear, very condescending; he could have simply ASKED ME if I understand the concept. He didn't care what I already knew; talked to me like a small child, wasting "his precious time." FINALLY got around to telling me what he'd seen and his conclusion diagnosis, insisting I need an MRI and maybe surgery. Then rabbited out of the room and vanished; no opportunity to question him. Clearly refuses to see the patient as "part of the team" in relating symptoms, understanding the issue, making decisions. Poor reviews here from others show his attitude, rudeness, condescension and disrespect are typical behaviors. Also very concerned re: other review re: lack of gloves for sterile injection and his reaction when called on it. Not going back.

I recently accompanied my father, who has wet macular degeneration and requires eye injections every few weeks. My father had told me that during his last injection, neither the nurse or the physician wore gloves, for a supposedly STERILE INJECTION PROCEDURE IN THE EYE. I am a general surgeon, well-versed in the value of sterility. Forget that I am in the medical field- anyone off the street should know that intraocular injections should be free of bacteria. Why else are you using equipment that have been sterilized? When I brought this up, Dr. Leff's medical assistant was visibly annoyed and it was clear when Dr. Leff stepped into the room, he was not thrilled with my presence. During this visit, we saw Dr. Leff for a total of approximately 2 minutes. My questions regarding different agents were met with curt responses and basically Dr. Leff told us that he would be transferring my father's care elsewhere. He is rude and condescending. We won't be going back.

Does not communicate! Friendly but rushes out of the room as soon as he can. Does not ask or gives you the opportunity to ask questions. You have to grab him before he runs out of the room. The nurses don't always know what is going on. Performs unnecessary work. Promises great results, but does not give them to you. We went for second and third opinions and EVERY other doctor disagreed with his promises and felt there was unnecessary work being done. They went as far as to say that his additional surgeries risked the eye.

My regular eye doctor referred me to Dr, Leff when I began to experience "strobe flashes" in one eye. Dr. Leff gave me his card with his cell # and asked me to call with any changes in vision. One month after my first visit I awoke with a torn and partially detached retina. He answered his cell. At 3:30 that afternoon he had me in surgery and saved my sight. Three nights later at 9:30 I called his cell with a concern and he answered his phone. Yes, you may spend some time in the waiting room. And yes, he does not spend a lot of time with you during your visit. But, it is always enough and there are others waiting, who need his attention too. I am so thankful for his skill, office efficiency and his making himself available at all hours of day and night. Everyone to whom I have recommended him has reported back great satisfaction.
