Rare find: highly talented & caring heart surgeon
Dr. Marra is not only an amazing heart surgeon but also so very kind, professional, and personable. He took his time to explain everything about my Mom’s surgery and we felt like he really cared about her doing well every step of the way. She looked forward to seeing him everyday while she was in the hospital. We heard the same thing from other people that have had surgery by him and her nurses had nothing but great things to say about him too. We wish all of her doctors were like Dr. Marra.

I cannot say enough praises for Dr Marra and his staff. I needed high risk open heart surgery that other surgeons in the region would not do and he accepted my case and I did very well. I heard from friends since I have been home that he is the best in the north East and puts no longer need to travel to Philadelphia to have there open heart surgery now. He performed a Robotic lung operation on another neighbor of mine and she also cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Marra and his team.

My Nana was recently hospitalized at General with a sadly grim diagnosis. Dr. Marra came into her room, coldly informed her that, "she is a very sick woman, and not suitable for surgery." and walked out. She passed away the next morning. Far from professional. I get it that he most likely has to deal with grim situations daily, but being jaded does not give one the right to treat another human being like a diagnosis and not a person. I am appalled and would never want a loved one in his hands.
