Excellent Doctor
My husband and have been going to Dr. McAllen for about 20 years. He is compassionate, knowlegable, professional and has helped us with many issues over the years. We have always been able to get in to see him when needed. His office staff is also excellent and when we call we are able to talk in person with them. We highly recommend Dr McAllen.

Burning Problem started after seeing this doctor.
I've had a burning in my right ancle ever since I seen him about 10 months ago. I had a numbness in my feet so when I went & seen him for that he asks me to take my shoes & socks off & close my eyes. Then he poke at my feet with something & ask if I could feel it. Then he left the room saying to put my shoe & socks back on. Very strange he didn't stay to discuss what he thought? It's been burning ever since. It was worse the first two weeks after but still burns today. I had started a grievance case against him for his office not doing their job before this. I should of know better than to go back to see him.

Doesn't appear to have time for his patients.
Primary visit was heart related. Secondary was for previously scheduled lab work and a general health visit. He took my blood pressure, asked about a recent episode, grabbed his prescription pad and we were done. Very little explanation regarding the new prescription and handed me a card to a cardiologist. I called the office the next day to see what the results of lab work showed and am still waiting for a response. And to boot, I have been a patient for over 20 years. Time to move on!

doesn't give a darn
My primary physician retired in May 2022. I needed to find a new primary. My insurance listed Dr McAllen as one of the approved choices. I called Dr mcallen's office and spoke with the receptionist to make an appointment. She said the doctor would have to review my information to accept me as a new patient. The only information she took was my name, age, and insurance company. She said the doctor would be back to me within a week. After 10 days I called again and was told the doctor was still reviewing my information and would give me a decision soon. I waited another week and then called the doctor's office again. I was told again that the doctor had not looked at my information. It seemed to me that there wasn't much information to consider. I think it is pretty rude to be this inconsiderate to not be able to get back with someone and say “no or yes”. I think this doctor has little, or no interest in serving our community

Continuing patient of a number of years. Prompt, knowledgeable, gets to the point, has always been helpful, though he is quite rushed as are most of the MDs in our area. I bring a list of issues, we review it, and I'm usually happy. Certainly can recommend him but he doesn't accept all insurance, so be sure to check
