Dr. Steven Mings, MD

Dr. Mings is an excellent provider. He is very personable and makes you feel valued as a patient. He discusses treatment options and allows you to play an active role in your healthcare decisions. I appreciate that! He has a good sense of humor and is always a joy to see! The office is usually busy but staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I have never felt rushed or like my questions were left unanswered. Wait time varies but in my opinion, good healthcare is always worth the wait. Although being familiar with my insurance contract and out of pocket cost is my responsibility, it can still be confusing. Billing has always been willing to look up information for me, provide quotes prior to procedures, or explain charges. I have been going to Gem State Dermatology for years. I trust Dr. Mings and will continue recommending his practice.

Dr Mings always comes in with a smile on his face and ready to help! He is always thorough and has a 6th sense about when a mole or lesion might be malignant! I have sent him several patients and in both cases there lesions were malignant and he felt quite sure they were when he saw them! Other doctors they had seen didn’t even want to. biopsy them! Thank you for your kindness and your interest in really seeing your patients be healed! Your care and concern makes the difference!

They are busy but they took the time to do a thorough exam and answer all of my questions. Compassionate care and all the staff very friendly. I can’t imagine how some reviewers are unhappy with this office. Clearly one of the best I have been to and exceeded my expectations from start to finish.

I had heard how atrocious the office staff is but until recently I hadn't experienced it myself. They do give quotes and then charge a lot higher. Won't accept any responsibility. This office does not represent the values we have in our city. And seeing a doctor? Forget about it.

I have been seeing Dr Mings or his female PA, since moving to Boise, ID, 19 years. I had an excellent dermatologist in SLC, UT., and have received the same excellent care from Dr. Mings! He found an auto-immune disease as soon as I had symptoms. He is excellent, knowledgeable, caring, wonderful doctor. I used to work for a Dermatologist in Utah (RN) and he far gave better advice and followed-up on me. They are busy, so plan on making an appointment, as soon as you have a problem.

This is a very atrocious group of people that do not resonate the values and standards of the Boise community. They are rude and insulting and often bill amounts higher than they need which they then correct and call a mistake. The office manager is extremely rude and unhelpful and I am wondering if Dr Mings even realizes what a terrible job they are doing to his business. I hope you read this doctor. We are a long standing family in Boise and have enjoyed you but your team are terrible.
