Dr. Steven Pinsky, MD

I was new to Virginia Beach and needed a pain doctor to continue treatment. Dr. Pinsky was 90 minutes late for the appointment and didn't even acknowledge that or apologize. He didn't review any of my medical records from other pain management offices. I was treated in a condescending manner about my pain and told that it is probably all in my head. I have been in pain management for over 15 years with triple board certified pain management doctors. He belittled them and even suggested that getting a dog may help my pain. I was in awful pain and left the appointment to go to urgent care after leaving. I was able to find another well qualified pain management doctor to continue my treatment. This guy is not worth your time. Go elsewhere.

Dr. Pinksy is very talented and quirky. For someone who enjoys sarcasm and laughter, I found his bedside manner entertaining. I don't particularly like feeling like I am in a doctor's office and appreciate the banter and jokes that can alleviate the stress of any doctor's visit. Communication at the reception area is lacking and scheduling can be an issue. I was seen in the Plainview office so I cannot speak for the service in RVC.

Runnnnn!!! Would give -“negative stars if that was possible...Terrible experience. Awful bedside manner. Very weird and unprofessional. Staff is extremely incompetent . Couldn’t get an injection authorized because they never sent over any pertinent information to my insurance company ( surgical history, radiologic images) so they denied it (after over a month of basically begging the office to send the request in the first place). Saw another dr on Monday and had the authorization and the shot by Friday. Do not waste your time

The wirst experience. He hhas a girl who claims to be a nurse who is so nasty. Pinsky doesn't listen. Horrible.

I was in constant knee pain after a torn maniscus surgery..he treated my knee and I feel like a new man..

Absolutely the best. My husband and I have both been seeing Dr. Pinsky for over 15 years. He has a terrific bedside manner, describes procedures in detail so that the patient (and family) are completely comfortable before and after the procedure. In my case, I was able to forestall major back surgery for 14 years because of the care that this wonderful doctor gave me. As to recommendations, I have recommended many members of my family and my friends. They have all been happy.

I was in terrible pain when I went to see Dr. Pinsky in early 2017. I had a herniated disk and after examining me and reviewing my films. he gave me an epidural. I wound up needing surgery within the next two weeks - but after the epidural the pain was bearable and I could walk again. He was patient and thorough, answered all of my questions and was available by phone for follow up. Bedside manner was great and I would see him again if the need arose.

I did epidural with Dr Pinsky and I came out to be worst. He is unprofessional and unresponsive after treatment. I called him few times to complained about the pain and he didn't responsed. I had so much pain that I ended up in ER. Horrible experience. I do not recommend him at all.

Never again . Find a new doctor

Went to see Dr. Pinsky today about my back. The office was very friendly and clean. Did not have to wait long in the office. We first met with the PA who was very efficient in answering my questions. Once the doctor came to the room he was very friendly and warm. He looked at my medical records and explained to me what treatment I needed. We spoke for a while and I found him to be very professional. He was actually one of the nicest doctors I've had to deal with in a while. I would recommend him
