My husband needed his gallbladder removed 3 years ago and Dr. Steven Scalia performed the surgery. I gained great respect for him then so when I needed a mastectomy, I knew exactly who I wanted to perform the surgery! Dr. Scalia is extremely professional, very thorough, explains everything both pre and post surgical, and, this is rare these days, has a great bedside manner. Dr. Scalia will take whatever time is needed to answer any questions and put the patient at ease. If you need one, you will not find a better surgeon than Dr. Steven Scalia!

I was very impressed with Dr.Scalia from Day 1. He performed a single simple mastectomy on me after a recurrence of breast cancer. His bedside manner was wonderful- calm, confident, and reassuring. He explained the procedure in simple terms and my husband and I found him to be honest, intelligent, and caring. (At my follow up visit, he actually removed the steri-strips on my incision himself rather than having a nurse do it). He is an amazing surgeon and it's obvious that he takes pride in his work and in treating his patients with compassion and respect. He specializes in breast surgery. I would recommend him whole heartedly!

Excellent surgeon, and wonderful "bedside manner," if you enjoy humor and wit while dealing with medical necessities. I'd prefer to not need any more surgery, but if I do, I want Dr. Scalia again. I highly recommend him.

In 1995 dr Scalia operated on me for chrohns, he got me back on my feet. Last week needed emergency surgery for blockage due to hernia reccurance. Dr Scalia was there in 15 mins and had me in OR in 25 mins. He pretty much saved my life. I have nothing but respect for him and his staff. True professional DR. Thank you.

Three weeks ago, I underwent emergency surgery for my appendix. I was so fortunate to have Dr. Scalia on duty. He did a terrific job with the surgery and my recovery was seamless. I also had him about eight years ago for a lumpectomy. I really appreciate his straight forward approach. Could not find a better surgeon in our area. He has also done surgery on my husband and my sister (who is also in the medical field), all with great results.

I was totally satisfied with every aspect of Dr. Steven Scalia's care. He made me and my family members feel confident about the surgery and its outcome. He was very informative about my upcoming surgery. He explains things in a way that the lay person can understand. He seems to genuinely care about his patients and he makes you very confident about his surgical abilities. After the surgery he thoroughly explained everything to my family and me.
