I honestly cannot believe the positive reviews I see here are authentic. I saw Dr. Toengas in the Nocatee office & he was absolutely the rudest doctor I have EVER seen in my life ! I really should have walked out. His bedside manner ruins any positive clinical skills he may have. Would never, ever recommend this person to be part of your care. Thank GOD I found another provider !!

Quite possibly the worst doctor I have ever seen
This doctor was rude! I am not someone who would normally add a review of a doctor, because I understand that each situation is unique and doctor's are humans who shouldn't be judged based on a single interaction. However, the interaction I had with this doctor was so bad, I feel like I need to warn others. I would never see this doctor again or recommend anyone see him. He is sarcastic, lacks empathy, and his tone is overwhelmingly condescending. A reviewer below said he was confident, I think a better description would be that he is pompous. Another reviewer said he is clear about his opinions, I agree with this, but it is not in a good way. It is more like insultingly and unsympathetically blunt.

Best visit ever!
The doctor was very thorough and 100% engaged and interested in hearing my concerns. He made me feel comfortable and confident in his advice. I have had Parkinson’s for about 10 years and previously went to UCLA Medical in LA. I am now confident that the level of care I will be receiving is at par, if not better, than I was getting before.

Baptist Primary Care sent a referral to Dr Toenjes’ office. After a month I still had not heard from the office so I called them. The soonest they could see me was three months out. Prior to this appointment, I received a letter from this office canceling my appointment with no explanation given and asking me to call to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, rather than my appointment being made a priority, they wanted to schedule me another two months out. I asked to speak to the office manager and left a message for them to call me. It has now been a week and a half and have not received a phone call. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It shows very little concern for the patient’s needs. No patient should have to wait six months to be seen.

Extremely unsympathetic while delivering news about a patient in a vegetative state for several days. We said we know you aren't God, we are just trying to understand the results of a test we had waited many days for. He stated if he were God, he wouldn't be in the room with us, he would be out fishing. We found this unprofessional especially given the dire state of our loved one.

Dr. Toenjes was very good but don't expect his office stafe is totally worthless! Please find any other place to go for Neurology. The doctors are fine in the office but you can't get anyone in the office to return any calls for medicine refills.
