Dr. Sunil Thummala, MD

All was good until the main office manager (I think his wife) went on maternity leave. Since then I've had prescriptions sent to the wrong pharmacy, phone calls never returned, rudeness when on the phone with the new person (2 different ones since early April - its now mid July). I'm several months behind for migraine injections. I got a call about my daughter's appointment (she sees him too). While I had her on the phone I asked to reschedule my appoint that I had left a message about 2 days prior because I have COVID. I was told no, she would have to call me back. I asked when to expect the call back (to get injections I've waited on since April) she basically said when she gets to it. We were both already on the phone and I had been waiting 2 days for a return call. Not sure why an appointment could not have been scheduled while we were both on the phone anyway. Unacceptable. I don't want to find another doctor, but with what has been going on for months, I am considering it.

As many have described, Dr. Thummala is very thorough and takes the time to explain in detail what is going on. I really like that in a doctor. Unfortunately, getting a return call to get appointments or information is more difficult than winning the lottery. You might get a return call 2 weeks after leaving a message. If you miss that call, it starts all over again.

Very smart, professional and nice doctor!

Ive had vague symptoms for years and lived in pain, Dr Thummala diagnosed me with CIDP and started me on IVIG which not only helped my symptoms but gave a positive outlook on life. His staff has no turnover and he has an excellent nurse practitioner who is very knowledgeable and also manages my treatments.

I was suffering with many strange symptoms that my primary care physician thought was TIAs, I spent many hours in the ER. When I was referred to Dr Thummala, hhe finally diagnosed me with seizures, and the medication I was prescribed changed my life. He has no staff turnover so you know everyone in the office, they are all friendly and professional. He also has an excellent Nurse Practitioner who is also very knowledgeable and provided me with resources and support groups regarding my condition.

Excellent neurologist. Took time to explain my test results. I was told I have panic attacks for years and no one bothered to look what might be the cause. Upon doing 3 day brain test he identified every time I get panic attack I am having seizure on EEG. He placed me on seizure medication and now I am now anxiety free for last 6 months. Until I saw Dr.Thummala no doctor bothered to test but everyone kept on giving me pills, more pills each time. I am glad I saw right doctor now.

Dr. Thummala seems to be a good doctor at first. He had good bedside manners and patiently talked to us. However he does not maintain a good office staff. They never answer calls and it seems the staff is always leaving. When we pushed back on Dr Thummala for the lack of staff, he took offense and his demeanor changed - we have copies of some nasty notes he wrote via his email system. I would not recommend going to this doctor.

Dr. Thummala is OK if you ever get to see him. The PA sees most of the patients and she does not have much of a personality. Absolutely would not recommend this office. The phone system is never answered by a real person, have to leave a message every time and will only get a call back less than half the time. Prescription refills are ridiculous to get. Very money hungry.
