Dr. Surajit Majumdar, MD

First of all, the staff is fantastic! Very caring and friendly, as is Dr. Majumdar. Dr. Majumdar has allowed me to be involved in my care. I have discussed several things with him, we go back and forth on it, and if he thinks that my ideas have merit, he is quite willing to go along with it. Others have mentioned that he doesn't do much of an examination. In fact, one mentioned that she was 'dumped' on him, and he didn't do an EKG. My previous PCP, who was a cardiologist, always did an EKG, but he passed away, which is how I came to Dr. Majumdar, who is NOT a cardiologist, so I did not expect an EKG from him. Perhaps the other review was from someone who was a patient of the same cardiologist I had been seeing. In any event, he has done thorough exams when I have seen him. He recommended a cardiologist to me whom I have seen, and I'm very pleased with the recommendation. I am very happy with him and trust him as my PCP.

Annual wellness exam. Patient was referred or actually dumped on this Doctor due to extended absence or retirement of patient's PCP of long standing. Doctor spent perhaps 10 minutes in the exam, gave the patient impression Doctor had more important matters or patients to handle/treat, or had a plane to catch. Doctor did not perform certain routine but important tests that gauge wellness; i.e., no DRE, no stethoscope used to hear heartbeat or rhythm, no EKG machine used to better understand patient's heart condition, no exam ordered to view condition of patient's lungs. Very perfunctory exam & waste of patient's valuable time to see this Doctor.

He is so caring and knowledgeable. It is fairly easy to schedule an appointment. His staff is also great even when they are busy.

If you want to find out if, what is wrong with you do NOT see this Dr. !!!! If you are a woman especially, do NOT see him. Doesn't look at you when you talk to him. Asks few to no questions. Doesn't fully look at your chart. Doesn't look outside the box. If with you he TALKS TO HIM ONLY. Told staff was unhappy & why. They suggested I see someone else. 2nd visit said something again to which he FIRED ME as a patient!
