Dr. Susan Heffley, MD

Dr. Heffley is an exceptional healthcare provider. She communicates clearly, actively listens, and demonstrates genuine concern for her patients. During each of my appointments with her, she consistently sought updates on my overall health and inquired if I required any assistance. I would certainly recommend Dr. Heffley to my friends and family.

We love Dr. Hefley. She listens well. Explains things in easy to understand terms. She truly cares about you.

Anytime I would call I could never reach the doctor. She would leave the room on visit’s and not come back. Finally, No one bothered to tell me that my heart prescriptions weren’t going to be filled. No emails or texts to let me know she wasn’t in my network anymore.

Extremely pleased and had personal issues that put my medical care on back burner. So pleased to get a MD who would listen to all of it. Never condescending and being over 60 & female, heard that more than once....bit not from her. Very polite, from Kentucky...new experience for someone raised in New York. Expect A+ medical & found it with a smart, efficient and KIND physician. She "keeps it real", too - Extra kudos. Only hangups are Centura & short staffing - just like ALL places.

Knowledgeable physician who really cares!

I do not recommend Dr. Heffley or the Optum practice at all. My husband was a patient there. He had abnormal lab values at his last cardiology appointment and was told to follow up with his primary care physician, Dr Heffley. We sent a message through the Optum portal in August confirming that they had the lab results and apologizing that the doctor hadn’t reviewed them yet. We were assured that she would get back with us the next day. We heard nothing. I called on my husband’s behalf last Thursday to find out what was going on and suddenly they don’t have the labs. First they said they did and now suddenly they don’t. They offered to set up a telehealth appointment for that day, which would have been pointless since the doctor didn’t have the labs to review. I told them to get the labs and call us to discuss. I was assured that we would have a call back on Monday but here it is Thursday and, no surprise, they haven’t called. Professional, knowledgeable and personable. She was informed and informative. Really liked Dr. Heffley.

Dr. Heffley is the worst PCP I’ve ever had. I called to get a refill on my prescription...she never would call me back. The receptionist kept saying the nurses were trying to get her to look at it and she wouldn’t respond. I called 3 times and told them I had no medication left and if I needed to come in then I would, but I needed at least a 5 day supply until I could get in. Dr. Heffley would never respond. I believe this is unacceptable and would NEVER recommend her. She put me in a dangerous position with going off my medication.

Would not recommend. Very late (~45-50 minutes) to appointment, first time visit (my long time PCP retired), not personable nor made any attempt to establish a doctor/client relationship. Why would anyone want this person as their PCP?

Very disappointed. Won’t be going back to her care. She just suddenly left the room and didn’t come back, I said to the nurse I wanted to show some moles to her and the nurse replied that she’s with another patient already and running late, that I have to book a new appointment. I said wow, she didn’t even say anything, just left the room. This was the first appointment with her as my PCP and very poor first impression. She was not very caring as a person.

She is the best Doctor I had in 65 years. It will be hard to find someone as good as she is. She is a friend . You can't find one any better.

I had an idiopathic high fever that my other care providers could not Diagnose. Within two visits Dr Heffley determined what was causing my problems. She quickly gained my trust because of her eagerness to listen to my complaints and help me find a solution. Dr Heffley is always very friendly and attentive to my needs as a patient.
