Dr. Susan Malinowski, MD

I love her sensitivity and compassion. Not at least to overlook her skills.

Dr. Malinowski and her staff are very professional, knowledgeable and kind. A very happy staff. I would definitely refer anyone to see her with any eye problems.

First visit & took advantage of my insurance & refused to answer questions; said to ask my ophthalmologist. When I requested another physician, who I met with during a series of tests a month earlier, she sent a letter denying me access to anyone else. I was in complete shock to be treated so poorly. Now that that I’ve explored the state of the industry I realize that all offices are managing their patients similarly. I’ve been told by industry insiders that private equity firms either owns the clinic or they are the controlling stockholder. Efficiency is the game & they will not take any time to answer questions! This is becoming typical in all areas of healthcare! Instead of answering any queries, they had you a packet of papers to read. Oddly, each time I tried to arrange an appointment, it takes nearly 30 minutes for the receptionist to scan the computers & leave the desk to check with the doctor. It is a very strange & unfriendly clinic.

She is someone who cares and someone you can trust, she made me believe not all doctors are in for the money, she is very good at what she does and answers all my questions. I wish I could find a primary care doctor like her.

I first saw her 2012 (for an epithelial layer growing on my left retina, which seriously distorted my vision). She eventually did surgery (also had to laser a detached retina issue), which restored more left vision. Unfortunately, The left eye developed a blood clot (which she treated) and continues to monitor). That eye, doesn’t focus well, but I trust, the care here (at Retina Consultants, Southfield). Dr Malinowsky, is one of the friendliest, kind, professional, encouraging doctors and persons, I have dealt with. She explained, my issues and has been consistently reassuring. Brilliance, confidence, and humanity, are all evident. Her staff, are all very friendly and patient.

“Superb” Expertise Medical Attention.I am still digesting the wonderful news I received from Dr. Susan Malinowski on 10-25-24 re. the Healing of My (BRVO) Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (blood vessel rupture behind my retina). I have been seeing Dr. Susan for 2.5 years as this procedure was very gradual and successful. Dr. Susan is kind, caring, determined and dedicated to her vision profession. I attended every appointment and never missed one.I would cancel a prior commitment if need be to keep on track with my appointments and her valuable information, judgment and care.“SEEING” is believing in the BEST!Dr. Malinowski’s Assistants are very dedicated to her teachings and follow closely.Pui, an excellent Assistant has always made me feel comfortable prior and during each procedure. Excellent eye doctor and thorough testing facilities.

I've been going to Dr. Malinowski for many years. She was able to remove a swelling in my left eye that I have been putting drops in for a long time from another doctor that were absolutely useless. Dr. Malinowski treated that same eye with a steroid shot and the swelling has never returned,

Dr. Malinowski stayed late to see me for problems I was experiencing. She was compassionate about the pain I was having with treatment. Her knowledge and intelligence with two different types of treatment I received caused NO PAIN! I highly recommend Dr. Malinowski. She is truly concerned about her patients vision and wellbeing.

While I was leaving my appointment, which I was rather dissatisfied with, I overheard her talking to a colleague on how she wished she could have slapped me.

I found out from my eye doctor that I had pre-cancerous cells in my eye. Basically an old age spot. I was completely freaked out and went to see Dr. Malinowski she calmed me down and explained everything. Highly recommend

She was absolutely amazing. Very kind, knowledgeable and caring. "Please go online and give her the best rating on everything" is what he asked me to do! He was more than ecstatic with his entire experience with her from the consultation to the surgery and follow ups. He is doing very well and couldn't be happier with his experience amd the outcome.

Dr. Malinowski and her team went the extra mile staying late to treat my detached retina which needed urgent attention. I thank God that such talented and dedicated professionals were there. They saved my vision. Dr. Malinowski’s calm and confident manner put me at ease with the procedure and I know I had the best care in the world.

Dr. Malinowski is caring, kind and thoughtful. She takes time with you and explains to you what happening. I would definitely recommend her. I am so happy I have her as my doctor. The staff in the office is great, never had any trouble.

I was very nervous about my detached retina surgery until Dr. Malinowski calmed me dpwn and assured me it would all be ok and sure enough it was. Her bedside manner is terrific and I was able to see again in 2 weeks just like she said I would be able to. I have already recommended her to 3 of my friends. I will be back to have her do my other eye when the time comes.

Dr. Is always professional and her staff as well. Great attitudes. Dr. takes time with the patient and is knowledgeable about procedures and treatment.

I saw her 3 months ago & she told me I had a stroke in my right eye. The headache & pain & lost of vision has continued to worsen. I ended up in the E.R. this morning & they said "did you know you have glaucoma" ? I said NO, I was never told that. They sent me to the eye institute right away in Royal oak & your pressure should be 6 & mine was a whopping "60", if Dr. Malinowski knew this 3 months ago she could of sent me somewhere to save my eyesight. I will not or would not ever trust her again. She just wanted the money & could care less of my eye sight. She just kept saying she was a retina specialist & she could of sent me to somewhere else for the help I needed ! She was only concerned about money in her pocket !!
